A Crossville man faces charges following a joint human trafficking investigation.
TBI special agents charged Timothy Carter with one count of trafficking for commercial sex.
Agents began the investigation August 15 to address human trafficking in Bradley County. A press release said authorities placed decoy advertisements on websites associated with prostitution and commercial sex acts.
“The focus of the operation was to identify individuals seeking to engage in commercial sex acts with individuals under the age of 18 and to rescue individuals forced into trafficking,” The release said, “As well as well as targeting individuals who looked to force individuals into trafficking.”
Agents arrested Carter during the third day of the investigation, along with three other individuals.
The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office and Cleveland Police Department assisted with the investigation.
