A hiring event will take place at the Sparta Civic Center Tuesday.
Lindsey Austin is the Career specialist for Mid-Cumberland Workforce Services. She said the job fair will be open to the public, but geared towards veterans and re-entry.
“The re-entry is if you have been charged with a felony and are looking to get back in the workforce. We’ve got some employers that are willing to hire, depending on what the charge was,” Austin said. “We’re also going to have some people there that help the veterans put their experience into civilian terms.”
More than 10 employers will be present at the event, including St. Thomas Highlands, Volunteer Behavioral Health, and Charles Bailey Trucking. The mobile American Job Center will also be on site.
Austin said job seekers should bring a resume and dress for success.
“This is the first time that employers are going to see you,” Austin said. “First impressions are everything when it comes to getting a job. You want them to see you as an individual that is ready to work.”
Tuesday’s hiring event will be taking place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
