TN Tech Celebrates Tech Pride Days Through August

Tennessee Tech Pride Days will continue throughout the end of August to welcome students back into town.

Shanna Muncy with the Office of Communications and Marketing said Tech encourages the community to participate in the Pride Days.

“To show their support for the Tech students. These Tech students will be going into their businesses and a lot of them will be looking for part-time positions,” Muncy said. “And I think it does place a unity with the campus and the community itself.”

Muncy said Tech Pride Days involve hanging signs, attending sporting events, and getting involved with activities on-campus.

“The community can pick up their Tech Pride signs at the University Center information desk, the bookstore, and also the chamber of commerce here in Cookeville,” Muncy said. “And they can put that on their lawns. They can put it on their businesses if they would like. Just to put out some purple and gold in the town.”

Muncy said the Tech Pride signs incorporate purple and gold as well as the state’s tri-star symbol.

“Because Cookeville is a Tennessee college town. The program with the Tech Pride Days, it helps with the community and the campus involvement within itself.”

Tech Pride days end on August 31 when Tech hosts the first home football game.
