Cookeville Receives Bids For Police Headquarters Project

The City of Cookeville has received bids from four pre-qualified contractors to construct a new police headquarters.

City Manager James Mills said the city should have a contractor selected within the next two weeks.

“We’re in the process of evaluating those,” Mills said. “If all the bids are accurate, then we will recommend at our next council meeting the acceptance of the lowest bidder.”

Contractors had until Aug. 1 to submit their bids for the project.

Mills said a special committee consisting of Cookeville city officials will meet Tuesday to evaluate the bids. Bid information has not been made public at this time.

The four contractors pre-qualified to submit bids were Sain Construction Company of Machester, W&O Construction of Livingston, T.W. Frierson Contractor, Inc. of Nashville, and J. Cumby Construction of Cookeville.

Cookeville City Council next meets Thursday, Aug. 15 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
