The Putnam County School Systems is using TeacherLists to make school supply shopping easier for parents.
9th-12th Curriculum Supervisor Dr. Sharon Anderson said uploading photos of the list on Facebook proved inefficient for families and the schools.
“So parents had to scroll through every school’s list, every grade level list, to find the one they needed,” Anderson said. “Teacher Supply Lists is a solution to that that brings us into the 21st Century and allows parents to go directly to their child’s school, their child’s grade level, and see only the list that they need.”
The app allows parents to order supplies directly off the list as well. Anderson said the app benefits the families, but also the school system.
“Well it helps in that we have always had our grade levels submit supply lists, it cuts down on the distribution of lists on our end,” Anderson said. “It has very simple uploads for us. If edits have to be made those are also very easy to do for us.”
Anderson said parents can see the lists through a link on the Putnam County Facebook page.
“The response thus far has been very very positive,” Andersons said. “In fact, we have had far less feedback, in general, this time around than previously when we were publishing the list as images on the Facebook page.”
Putnam County Schools released the supply lists Monday.
