J&S Construction and Chick-fil-A will offer free meals to local law enforcement Wednesday.
President of J&S Construction Josh Stites said the partnership allows the company to recognize Peace Officers Memorial Day.
“Well, we wanted to, in a small way, say thank you and we appreciate you and we have got your backs to the folks that keep our community safe,” Stites said. “And enable us to engage in commerce, raise our families, and worship how we do in a safe place and in a safe community. It’s just a small way for us to say thanks.”
Peace Officers Memorial Day pays tribute to the officers who have died or been disabled in the line of duty.
Stites said all officers, on and off duty, can present their badge for a free meal.
“The purpose or the goal of tomorrow is to make sure that these guys who put on the badge every day, they know they are supported and appreciated and loved,” Stites said. “Although it’s J&S and Chick-fil-A involved in it, it’s really our expression of the bigger community.”
Peace Officers Memorial Day is observed as part of National Police Week. Chick-fil-A will offer free meals from 6:30 am to 10:00 pm May 15.
