The Tennessee Department of Transportation will halt all interstate construction this Easter weekend.
In the anticipation of increased holiday travel, TDOT crews and contractors will suspend work that requires lane closures through April 22 at 6:00 pm.
A press release indicates that the construction halt will provide maximum roadway capacity for travelers across the state this weekend.
Although all construction will cease, some long-term lane closures will remain. Reduced speed limits will still be in effect in areas where workers are present.
TDOT encourages motorists to adhere to all posted speed limits, especially in work zones.
