Renovation plans for Livingston Academy’s football stadium will have to wait another year.
Overton County Director of Schools Mark Winningham said district officials are still trying to find the best way to approach the project.
“There’s no way we can have it ready for the upcoming season, we do know that,” Winningham said. “There are so many things involved. You’ve got to tear down the facility you have, get the area ready for your new facility, and then do the construction.”
The district’s building committee met with Cope Architecture representatives earlier this month about the project. Architects estimate the project would likely cost at least $4 million to complete.
Winningham said a proposal by the end of the season would be ideal as the district has added the project to its comprehensive building plan.
“That’s what we hope for,” Winningham said. “Obviously, timing is the big thing there… At the earliest, it would be [completed] for the 2020 football season.”
Building Committee members toured the facility in January to come up with ideas on how to improve the current facility.
