Bloomington Springs Man Faces Weapon Charges

A Bloomington Springs man faces multiple weapon charges following a traffic stop Monday.

Authorities arrested 42-year-old Paul David Hunter Jr. for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of possession of prohibited weapon.

Officials stopped the vehicle for a failure to use a turn signal. Authorities identified Hunter as the passenger.

Hunter had an active warrant for violation of probation. Upon a consent search of the vehicle, officials found a revolver in Hunter’s bag.

Arrest warrants indicate that Hunter identified another shotgun in the trunk with a cut down barrel.

The search yielded several syringes, cut straws with residue, a metal spoon with residue, digital scales, and small plastic baggies.

Criminal history showed several aggravated burglary charges.

Authorities booked Hunter into the Putnam County Jail on a $7,500 bond.
