Authorities Evacuate Cookeville Walmart

The Cookeville Walmart was evacuated Tuesday after a suitcase was mistaken for a suspicious package.

Cookeville Police Captain Bobby Anderson says the incident occurred when someone was to pick up a suitcase at the store, causing the misunderstanding.

Authorities arrived on scene and searched the store shortly after the initial report. Customers and employees were cleared to reenter the store around 3 p.m.
