A Cookeville man faces multiple meth-related charges after a routine traffic stop Wednesday.
Officials arrested 29-year-old Brandon Smallwood for the possession of methamphetamine and the introduction of contraband into a penal institution.
Authorities initially stopped a vehicle on E. Veterans Drive for improper display of registration. Officials identified Smallwood as the passenger of the vehicle.
Arrest warrants indicate that a K-9 alerted to the vehicle and a probable cause search revealed a green bag with the initial “S” on it.
The bag contained digital scales with residue, a spoon with residue, and approximately 1.8 grams of a clear crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine.
A search of Smallwood’s person at the Putnam County Justice Center revealed 1 gram of a crystalline substance that appeared to be methamphetamine.
Authorities booked Smallwood into the Putnam County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
