Cookeville Man Arrested for Fatal Hit-and-Run

Police officials arrested a Cookeville man in connection to the Broad Street hit-and-run that left a motorcyclist dead on Monday.

Sixty-three-year-old Harold Conley faces multiple charges of leaving the scene of an accident involving death or injuries, no insurance, and driving on a suspended license.

During the course of the investigation, officials identified Conley as the driver of the vehicle. Conley later contacted the police and said he would come into the station. According to arrest warrants, Conley never came.

Officials located Conley at his residence Thursday. Conley admitted to leaving the scene of the accident knowing he had struck the motorcyclist.

A records check showed that Conley’s license was revoked for a DUI in Hickman County in April. Conley did not have insurance at the time of the wreck as well.

Officials booked Conley into the Putnam County Jail on a $12,500 bond.
