Authorities Find Body of Man in City Lake

At 8:46 AM, the Cookeville Police Department responded to the boat ramp at City Lake at 2800 Bridgeway Drive in reference to someone’s personal items found on a boat ramp.

According to Lieutenant Darrin Stout, divers conducted an extensive search and located the body of a homeless man.

Cookeville officials are withholding the name of the man until next of kin can be notified. A press release indicates that the man was not from the Cookeville area.

Authorities state there are no evident signs of foul play. Officials are requesting an autopsy.
