A northbound HWY 111 wreck near Algood injured one person yesterday evening.
James Smith, 82, was traveling west on Old Highway 42 in a Ford F250.
Smith came to the intersection of HWY 111 and attempted to cross the northbound lane to travel south.
A Chrysler Town and Country driven by Jenny Whitson, 48, was traveling northbound in the second lane.
According to the report, Smith failed to yield and pulled into the path of the Chrysler.
Smith struck the front end of the Chrysler.
After impact, the Ford came to rest in facing east in the middle of the roadway blocking both northbound lanes.
The Chrysler crossed the median before blocking both southbound lanes.
Whitson had a juvenile passenger at the time of the wreck.
THP arrived on the scene at 5:45 pm.
Whitson reported injuries, but the extent of injuries is unknown at this time. No other injuries were reported.
