Cumberland Mountian State Park will reveal the new ADA-accessible Storybook Trail and a Civilian Conservation Corps monument this evening.
The Storybook Trail features excerpts from “Night-Night Forest Friends” by Annie Bach along the lakeside half-mile loop. The trail connects the campground area to other components of the park, including the boathouse and recreation hall.
Tennessee State Parks said the Storybook Trail makes the park more pedestrian-friendly.
Cumberland Mountain State Park will reveal the Storybook Trail and a Civilian Conservation Corps statue this evening.
The Civilian Conservation Corps Worker Statue is a monument to the builders of the modern conservation movement, according to Tennessee State Parks.
The monument stands between the park museum and restaurant.
Tennessee State Parks indicates that the statue is one of many across the nation.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 4 pm this evening at the Cumberland Mountian State Park Museum patio. A guided hike and live music by the Wild Blue Yonder Band will follow the ceremony.
The Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation and the Tennessee State Parks Conservancy funded the Storybook Trail.
