Monterey citizens re-elected Bill Wiggins for Monterey Mayor.
Wiggins received 55.41 percent of the vote, beating his opponent Rebecca Iaquinta.
Wiggins said, he felt opposition regarding his re-election.
“I could have sworn I saw the kitchen sink go over the house at one time. Lots of opposition here from certain pockets. I have no idea…” Wiggins said. “I have some clues but we are going to carry on here. I have accumulated a record, I have put out the achievements and the happenings. We are going to build on that and ignore all the flack.”
Wiggins said he wants to continue focusing on infrastructure and Meadow Creek Park.
A forty-three vote difference secured Wiggin’s re-election.
