Putnam County authorities arrested a Cookeville woman on multiple charges Sunday, including driving under the influence, evading arrest, and reckless endangerment.
According to arrest records, a Putnam County deputy found Diane Bartlett, 53, traveling south in the northbound lanes of HWY 111 around Quinland Lake Rd.
According to the report, Bartlett intentionally fled after receiving a signal from law enforcement to stop her vehicle. Law enforcement followed Bartlett at a speed of 70 mph.
Bartlett passed at least three northbound vehicles using her vehicle as a deadly weapon, the report said.
Officers reportedly boxed the vehicle in and forced Barlett to slow to a stop south of the Old Kentucky exit.
Law enforcement reported Bartlet having red watery eyes and a strong scent of alcohol on her breath. Bartlett confessed to drinking too much at a high school reunion and thought she was driving in Algood.
Bartlett’s six thousand dollar bail was posted.
