Quinton Bain, 88 of Walling, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Mr. Ernest “Junior” Ledbetter, age 74, of the Upper Hilham Community, passed from this life on Sunday morning, April 22, 2018 in the comfort of his home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Memorial services for Mrs. Charlotte Moore Cody, 57, of Gainesboro, will be held at 7 P.M. on Monday, April 23, 2018, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. The family has chosen cremation. She passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born August 10, 1960, in Murphysboro, IL, to Bill and Mary Martin. On November 23, 2103, she was married to Chip Cody, who survives. She was a clerical worker, and enjoyed organizing the annual Eaton Christmas toy drive. She enjoyed volunteering in other community efforts, loved the beach, and wants to wish everyone one more time ROLL TIDE! She was preceded in death by a Special Great Niece: Makenzie Johnson. Survivors include her Husband: Chip Cody of Gainesboro; 1 Son: Damon Moore of Gainesboro; 1 Daughter: Julie Cody of Ridge Farm, IL; her Parents: Bill and Mary Martin of Gainesboro; 4 Grandchildren: Taylor Cody, Blake Shaw, Jack Cody, and Kinley Moore; 3 Brothers: Chris (Tina) Martin of Iola, KS, Jim (Carmel) Martin of Haleyville, AL, and Mark (Carrie) Martin of Crossville; 1 Sister: Angela (Rick) Hardesty of Gainesboro, TN; and 1 Daughter-in-Law: Marquita Kita Moore. Several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 P.M. until time of services. Memorial donations may be made to the Cookeville Rescue Mission or local toy drive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Billie Jan Hanson Hunter, age 81 of Sparta, will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Christ Point Church, on the square of Sparta, with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery. Bro. Steve Qualls and Bro. Bill Kirby will officiate the services. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am Tuesday until service time at the church. Mrs. Hunter passed away Friday, April 20, 2018 at the NHC of Sparta. She was born September 9, 1936 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late William Gordon and Velva Salter Hanson. She was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen Hunter. Mrs. Billie retired from the UCHRA.

Funeral services for Mr. Edward D. “Ed” Clark, age 81, of the Barnes Ridge Community will be conducted 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Steve Watts will officiate. Burial will be in the Barnes Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Monday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. Ed passed from this life on Saturday, April 21, 2018 in the comfort of his home. He was born in Pickett County, on August 5, 1936 to the late Thomas Denver & Ressie Hurd Clark. Ed worked for many years as a brick & stone mason. He was a member of the Summer Shade Church of Christ. Ed enjoyed fishing, singing and going to music festivals. He loved his family and spending time with them. He also loved his dog Rusty. Ed leaves his loving wife of 57 years, Jean Poindexter Clark of the Barnes Ridge Community; son, Danny Clark of Rickman, TN; daughters, Donna Bowman & husband Frank of Livingston, Tn & Diana Ledford & husband Mark of Allons, TN; grandchildren, Amanda Breeding, Megan Bowman Evans, Richard & Daniel Clark, Hannah Cave, Denver Clark & Makhyla Ledford; 4 great grandchildren & brother, George Clark & wife Kay of Anderson, IN.

Funeral services for Marilyn Diane (Thompson)-Hunter Hammontree, age 59 of Rickman, TN will be held on Tuesday April 24, 2018 at 2:00PM from the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with Mike Adams officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday April 24th only from 12:00Noon till time of service at 2:00PM. Burial will follow at West Cemetery in the Fairview Community. Mrs. Hammontree passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at her residence in Rickman, TN. Marilyn Diane (Thompson)-Hunter Hammontree was born on November 21, 1958 in Putnam County, Tennessee to the late Woodrow and Dena (Fleming) Thompson. She was an Executive Assistant with the Bank of Putnam County. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers: Woody Odell Thompson, Sam Denton Thompson, Paul Thurman Thompson, Robert Glenn Thompson, and Gary Vernon Thompson, and Grandson: Brayden McKee.

Funeral services for Billy Dean Loftis, age 83, of Cookeville will be held Wednesday, April 25th, 2018 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with James Rogers and Kevin Daughrity officiating. Interment will follow in Smyrna Cemetery. Mr. Loftis passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville following a brief illness. He was born Monday, December 10, 1934 in the Spring Creek Community of Jackson County to the late Carlin Champ Loftis and Della Moore Loftis. Billy was a member of Sycamore Church of Christ. He was retired from Porelon. At the time of his passing, he was the Crossing Guard at Sycamore School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: two brothers, Joe and Bob Loftis; sister, Mary Magdalene Langford; step-mother, Dorothy Phillips Loftis. He is survived by: his wife of fifty three years, Barbara A. Loftis; daughter, Terri (Stephen) Sykes of Cookeville; son, David (Diana) Loftis of Cookeville; four grandchildren, Tara Loftis, Carleigh Sherfield, Hunter Sykes, and Austin Loftis. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Wednesday, April 25, 2018, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Presley Funeral Home.
