Fishing and Hunting Licenses on Sale for 2018

2018 hunting and fishing licenses are now on sale across the Upper Cumberland.

Sportsmen must purchase a license to lawfully fish and hunt within Tennessee, according to TWRA’s Mime Barnes.

“The easiest way is to purchase online. They can purchase from their phone nowadays or from a computer,” Barnes said. “That is the easiest way. You can even save your license to a smartphone and carry your license as a photo on your smartphone.”

Supplemental licenses are available for those who wish to specifically fish trout or duck hunt, Barnes said.

“It benefits the state in many ways. it goes back into providing excellent fishing and hunting opportunities,” Barnes said. “But even if you are a bird watcher, it benefits the management of all species. If you enjoy being outdoors and seeing wildlife, then sportsman’s dollars go towards that.”
