$6K Worth Of Fireworks Stolen From Dodson Branch Volunteer Fire Department

Some $6,000 worth of fireworks were stolen from the Dodson Branch Fire Department this month.

Chief Keith Bean said the department discovered perpetrators broke into the fire hall on Zion Road when they went to price the merchandise. Bean said this is usually the largest fundraiser of the year for the department.

“It was, of course, it won’t be this year because those are gone, but it helps our day-to-day operations,” Bean said. “We’ll do good to just break even. Of course, we went and got more to try and replace those with, but that’s all profit that was taken away from us. So we’ll just try to break even now.”

Bean said the fireworks are all made by Brothers Pyrotechnics. He said among the items stolen included “Serious Equipment”, a “Rubicon”, and “Smoking Mirrors” packets.

Bean said at this point it will be hard to identify who stole them other than the thief bringing themselves forward or someone tipping off law enforcement. He said if you have any information to please contact the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department or Bean at 931-510-5682.

“I’d like for them to really think about what they’ve done,” Bean said. “These guys and gals are trying to help the community, and something like this is pretty devastating to the fire department.”
