Lots of progress is being made on the emergency shelter in Pall Mall, according to Fentress County officials.
County Executive J. Michael Cross said when completed next year, the building will be a huge benefit to the Pall Mall Community.
“It’s one of our few communities that does not have any form of emergency shelter of any type,” Cross said. “This will be a multi-use facility that they can use as a community center or emergency shelter.”
Work on the building stalled earlier this year when the original bidder fell into financial difficulties and asked out of the job.The work is now being completed by Quality Home Construction out of Sparta.
The emergency shelter is being funded by a $315,000 Community Development Block Grant.
