Woman Cited After Collision with Fentress Sheriff Vehicle

A Tennessee Highway Patrol investigation led to a Jamestown woman being cited after colliding with a Fentress County Sheriff vehicle.

According to the THP crash report, Officer Christopher Anderson was traveling southbound on Main Street in Jamestown when he was running emergency traffic with siren and light deployed.

Anderson attempted to pass a vehicle in the turning lane when 70-year-old Betty York attempted to make a left turn in the same lane.

The two vehicles collided head-on with both Anderson and York sustaining minor injuries. Both were transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center in private vehicles.

York was issued a citation after it was determined she was driving on an expired license. Both Anderson and York were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.
