New Location Under Construction For Cookeville Company

An all-new location for an 85-year old Putnam County company under construction, as Winsupply of Cookeville moves to East Veterans Drive near Walmart.

President Lee Williams said the company will be moving its entire operation into the new facility. Williams said the new location will have a state-of-the-art showroom and new inventory space to help customers get in and out faster.

“We just added HVAC to our product mix and space became an issue for us,” Williams said. “We actually leased two other facilities, one in Cookeville and one in Baxter, just to try to house everything that we do now. So we’re trying to get all that under one roof.”

Williams said the main difference with the new building will be an expanded training room that can be used for employees or customers. Williams said he hopes construction will finish in March and the company can be fully moved in a month or two later.

“We’ve been here in business since 1939,” Williams said. “We like think that (in) amount of time we’ve tried to do a really good job giving back to the community. We try to contribute as much as we can back into that and we hope can provide the best customer service for our customers and the community.”

Williams said the company looked at several different types of properties and existing facilities before settling on where it is now setting up. Williams said the previous owners of the land that the company purchased for the facility are old family friends.

“The fact that we have a showroom and needed that storefront capability, that was the best suited location for us and we’re really excited about it,” Williams said.

Williams said the new building will also provide excitement for employees as they will be able to work in a fresh, new facility. Williams said it has taken a lot of planning and preparation to get to this point.

“Excited to have a face lift,” Williams said. “(There is a) lot of history in our current building but I think it’s time for us to take our business to the next level.”
