Van Buren County officials hope the Haslam administration’s plan to cease privatization efforts at state parks will continue.
County Mayor Greg Wilson said he’s been fighting against the privatization efforts at Fall Creek Falls State Park for two years. Last week, Gov. Bill Haslam’s office announce those efforts would stop.
“Very awesome and uplifting for the employees at Fall Creek Falls who were going to be affected by that and there were going to be around 60 full time employees effected by this choice the state was going to make,” Wilson said.
Wilson said he’s pleased those jobs will stay in place. Haslam’s office said it would be up to the next governor to take up the privatization efforts or let them go.
