Milling and paving on Cookeville’s Willow Avenue will begin the first week in October.
TDOT spokesman Jennifer Flynn said the two-part project is on schedule.
Contractor Rogers Group is lowering manholes, repairing sidewalks and drainage catchbasins.
The first week in October, they’ll begin milling, or removing old pavement. Then the paving phase begins.
Flynn said the whole project should be complete by Halloween.
The project begins just south of Jackson Street and will cover 2 miles of Willow Avenue, all the way up to Gainesboro Grade.
All work will be completed after dark. At least one lane will remain open each way, Flynn said.
