A new gym floor and bleachers project at Putnam County’s White Plains Academy expected to be completed by the end of this month.
Architect Kim Chamberlin said the gym floor has been installed with the bleachers following shortly after.
“They’ll start the sanding process this week and finish up with the final coatings on those,” Chamberlin said. “They anticipate that being done before the 12th, and the bleachers are set to arrive on the 12th. So if all goes well, we look to wrap that up on the 16th or 17th of this month.”
Chamberlin said the project also includes new windows, which have already been installed. The some $200,000 project was a part of the district’s spending plan for federal COVID money.
