White County Teacher Named Teacher Of The Year Finalist

One Upper Cumberland teacher has been named a finalist for state Teacher of the Year.

White County High math teacher Rebecca Ryan is one of three Middle Tennessee finalists.

White County Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger said he’s very proud of Ryan’s efforts.

“I’d like to take credit for it but it’s not my credit to take, we’re very proud of our team and our teachers and schools and certainly Ms Ryan and the effort she puts forth and that’s indicative of the effort all our teachers put in, we’re certainly proud of her,” Dronebarger said.

In the fall, the state Department of Education will narrow the 9 finalists to three, then announce the winner, Dronebarger said.
