A White County man faces multiple drugs and weapons charges after running from Sparta Police and failing to follow officer directions.
Sparta Police responded Sunday night to a call of a suspicious person walking along Oakwood Street. 28-year-old Adam Barlow started to flee when police arrived. When police ordered Barlow to stop, he did and dropped his backpack but began reaching into his left pocket. Officers ordered Barlow to pull his hands out of his pocket, but Barlow did not.
Police found a utility razor knife on the ground and multiple knives in his coat pocket.
Barlow also found in possession of some 25 grams of marijuana, various prescription drugs, and paraphernalia, according to police reports.
Police charged Barlow with resisting arrest, felony drug possession, possession without prescription, possession of paraphernalia and public intoxication. Barlow being held in the White County Jail.
