A White County man will appear in court next week after confessing to raping a juvenile.
According to White County Sheriff PIO Melissa Worthington, 26-year-old Kristopher Aaron Cook was arrested following an investigation by WCSO.
“Officials with the White County Sheriff’s department received information about an inappropriate relationship between a 26-year-old male (Cook) and an undisclosed juvenile,” Worthington said. “Through their investigation, Detective Lindell Smith with the WCSO, along with Investigator Chris Isom with the District Attorney’s Office, they produced a suspect.”
Worthington said the rape occurred around the first of June. No details were given on the juvenile’s age or the moments leading up to the incident due to the sensitivity of the case.
Cook was charged with one count rape and one count statutory rape. He is currently being held at the White County Jail on $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Wed Sept. 5.
