White County Jail TCI Certified, Sheriff Credits Staff and Technology

The White County Jail is once again certified with the Tennessee Corrections Institute.

Sheriff Steve Page said certification takes consistent hard work and accountability for making sure operations are done the right way. Page said as sheriff, training had to improve so talented corrections officers were in place to achieve this standard.

“To get this jail certified took a lot of work from top to bottom,” Page said. “And the people that have performed those duties are doing a great job and it’s a 24/7 job, seven days a week, 365 days a year and White County is absolutely moving forward.”

Page said implementing the Life Check System under his administration has been integral to improving jail operations. He said this computer system alerts corrections officers for inmate checks and requires them to make contact and digitally confirm inmates are okay.

“The Life Check System has really played a major role with us to make sure all the inmates are cared for properly,” Page said. “It puts attention to everybody that’s involved. They are held to a standard that is second to none in my opinion. They have to move forward all the time, they have to pay attention to the little details.”
