White County Director Of Schools To Present at National Superintendents Forum

The White County Board of Education voted to fund Director Kurt Dronebarger’s airfare to go to San Diego to put on a presentation for the National Superintendents Forum.

Dronebarger said he was invited by the forum to speak about the county’s Warrior Academy Program, which provides a second chance at graduation for struggling high school students. Dronebarger said the trip will bring new opportunities to the county.

“It’s an opportunity for us to share, and then I also work with vendors that support our schools once I get there, and look for other solutions for our schools,” Dronebarger said. “So this would be December 3-5, which is a Sunday through Tuesday I believe.”

The board also voted to pay for the airfare of Dronebarger’s wife, Beverly. Dronebarger said she also works with the program and will be presenting to the forum alongside him.

“She works very hard with the mentoring portion of that program where we just assist students in all their needs and all facets of life outside of school,” Dronebarger said.

Dronebarger said the trip will allow him to help other districts that want to create similar opportunities for their students.

“We’re gonna share the great things that are going on in this program,” Dronebarger said.
