White County Appoints New School Board Member

Tracy Fowler is the newest member of the White County School Board.

Fowler was appointed to the vacant District Seven seat at Monday’s County Commission meeting. She said she wanted to run for the position because of her history in White County, and her desire to serve the community.

“I love White County, my Children went to school here, graduated from here, and my grandchildren are coming up,” Fowler said. “And I want the values that we had back then brought back today.”

Fowler will be taking over the seat previously held by the late Kenneth Robinson. She said she was surprised but pleased by the commissioner’s decision.

“I wasn’t sure how the votes were going to go after a lot of miscommunication and everything today,” Fowler said. “One of them dropping out, somebody else coming in, so we weren’t sure which way it was going to go, but I’m very excited.”

Fowler said she sees this as an opportunity for a new start in the school system, and an opportunity to make a positive change in the community she has lived in her entire life.

“I would like to see our conservative issues brought back to our county,” Fowler said. “I think we are losing them.”
Fowler won the position with 10 votes out of the 12 commissioners present. She was officially sworn into the position after the meeting concluded
