White Co. Schools: Ready For Learning Monday

Only White County Schools will be in session Monday for the eclipse.

White County Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger said teachers and staff have been working hard on learning activities planned for students. There’s even an eclipse-themed lunch.

Dronebarger said a permission form was sent home for parents to sign, allowing their child to participate in the day’s activities. Students have also received instruction on viewing the eclipse safely.

Dronebarger said no students or employees of the White County will be forced to watch the eclipse.

The schools are prepared for extra traffic, extra visitors and an extraordinary learning opportunity, Dronebarger said.

Fentress County Schools will close at 10:30 a.m. Monday, while Clay County Schools will close at 11:16 a.m.

All other county school districts will close that day.
