White County School Board Chair Jayson McDonald is seeking re-election to serve on the Tennessee School Board Association Board of Directors.
McDonald said he will run for the Upper Cumberland District Director.
“TSBA is a great organization,” McDonald said. “They provide a lot of good information for our school districts across the state and just hope to continue to help that organization grow. I even had aspirations of getting on to their leadership board.”
The leadership board consists of five members led by the president. They are voted in by local school board delegates statewide. McDonald said he looks forward to bring his thoughts to the board to represent small school districts.
“TSBA does the Upper Cumberland district director which encompasses 16-counties in the Upper Cumberland,” McDonald said. “They elect a district director to serve on the TSBA Board of Directors who takes care of the polices and procedures and our conferences that we go to.”
McDonald has served as the region’s director for one term of three-years. Nine members make up the district director board with three members elected every three years. TSBA members will vote for district directors during its fall district meeting.
The White County School Board approved McDonald to seek the TSBA seat this week. McDonald has served as a county school board member for eight years.
