The White County Anti-Drug Coalition will be hosting a community-wide training event on how to administer the opioid overdose reversal drug Naloxone.
Drug Coalition President Beth Kirby said she encouraging everyone to attend the event.
“Anyone who may be misusing any type of an opioid, please come and learn how to use this and have this in hand,” Kirby said. “We also want to encourage family members of any of those folks to come as well. If someone is misusing an opiate they are not going to be able to use this themselves.”
The event will also teach attendees how to recognize an opioid overdose and other things that can be done do to help.
A free opioid overdose reversal kit will also be given to those who attend the training session, which is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Monday at White County Middle School.
