Weapons Found During Crash Investigation In Putnam County

A convicted felon faces charges after deputies located multiple weapons during a crash investigation Tuesday.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office charged 37-year-old Anthony E. Parker of Monterey with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

An arrest report said deputies responded to Stamps Shady Road after Parker crashed an ATV and suffered injuries. Authorities determined that Parker had an active warrant for violating probation on a felony burglary charge.

The report said deputies located multiple backpacks at the crash scene that contained black powder pistols, a double barrel shotgun, lever action rifle and a .22 caliber Colt Trooper Mark II.

Deputies arrested Parker and transported him to the Putnam County Jail. He remains behind bars on $3,000 bond.
