Funeral Services for Pollye Durbin Gibson, 81, of Cookeville will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 11:00am from the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Mrs. Gibson was born on January 24, 1937 in Sparta to the late Alfred Vasco and Lina Brewington Randolph. She passed away on Monday evening, October 22, 2018 at NHC HealthCare in Cookeville. She was a loving mother and “Mame” to her grandchildren. Mrs. Pollye and her late husband, Garland Ray Durbin ran and operated the Curley’s Market on Highway 70. Mrs. Gibson is survived by her son, Alfred Durbin and wife Rita of Cookeville; daughters, Sherry Lynn Howell and husband Allon of Spencer; Sandy Durbin of Cookeville; step-son, Ray Durbin and wife Deb of Texas; sisters, Mable Tabors, Faye Robinson and Bettye Whiteaker; brother, David “Crock” Randolph; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Nettie Rebecca Durbin; step-daughter, Carolyn Sue Ferguson; 7 brothers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3:00-7:00pm and again on Thursday from 10:00am until time of services at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Eckel Cemetery. Mrs. Linda passed from this life on Sunday morning, October 21, 2018 from the Overton County Health & Rehab. She was born September 29, 1949 in Overton County to the late Molessia Hammons Brown. Linda attended the Shiloh United Methodist Church. She loved her family, and enjoyed watching game shows, flowers, quilting and crocheting. Linda leaves her daughter, Molessia Melton & husband Jimmy Crawford of Rickman; son, Rodney Phillips & wife Melinda of the Highland Mountain Community; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Cindy Day of Cookeville; brothers, Willard Hammons of the Hardys Chapel Community, and Mike Brown of Cookeville. In addition to her mother, Linda was preceded in death by her husbands, Oscar Phillips and Leonard Collins; brothers, Larry Hammons, and Harold “Hambone” Hammons; sisters, Pat Hammons, and Rita Allen. Burial will be in the Falling Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Nora passed from this life on Monday evening, October 22, 2018 from the Overton County Health & Rehab Center. She was born May 31, 1934 in Overton County to the late Terry & Dora Wright Norris. Nora was a member of the Falling Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to Church, canning and cooking. Nora loved to watch basketball and even enjoyed playing basketball. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nora leaves her son, Jeffery Cravens & wife Becky of Cookeville; daughters, Judy Winningham & husband Bill of Alpine, Reda Cravens of Alpine, and Rhonda Long & husband David of Allons; 7 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Flora Cashion her twin sister, and Ova Lee Johnson. In addition to her parents, Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Dayton Cravens; grandchildren, Brandon & Virginia Winningham who were twins; brothers, Toby, Fred, Junior, Dude, and A.D. Funeral services for Miss Ginger Carwile, 47, of Gainesboro, will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in Gainesboro. She passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at her residence. She was born November 9, 1970, in Gainesboro, to Jack Carwile and Brenda Carwile. She was an electrologist in the cosmetology industry. She was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandparents: Walter and Gladys Burris; and her Paternal Grandparents: Lloyd and Lillie Carwile. Survivors include her Parents: Jack and Brenda Carwile of Gainesboro; 2 Sisters: Donna (Jeff) Lee of Savannah, GA and Tammy (Lance) Campbell of Panama City, FL; 7 Nephews: Tyler, Austin, Bronson, and Connor York; Grayson, Riley, and Colin Campbell; and 1 Great Niece: Laykelynn York. Several aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends also survive. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12 Noon until time of services.
Funeral services for Lennie Gayle Nelson, 79 of Walling, will be held at 3pm on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Mike Steakley and Ron Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Gayle passed quietly in her sleep at her home in Walling leaving behind her daughter Katherine (Barry) Gregg of Mount Vernon, Ohio; son Jim (Diane) Nelson of Seattle, Washington; grandchildren Allison Nelson and Troy Nelson of Seattle, Washington; and sister Carole (Lawrence) Dye of Gallatin. She was a three-time cancer survivor: breast, colon, and endometrial cancers. Gayle loved life, loved her family and friends and was a blessing to so many people. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm until time of the service at the funeral home.

Celebration of Life Services for Ms. Rose Hart Dale, age 108, of Livingston will be conducted 11 a.m., Friday, October 26, 2018 from the First Christian Church in Livingston. Rev. Dee Wells and Rev. James Shenko officiating. Rose Hart Dale was born in Livingston on October 23, 1910. She passed away on October 23, 2018, her 108th birthday. She was a daughter of J.B. (Jake Butler) and Leila Harris Dale who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Leilabel Dale Officer and Ruby Dale Stephens and brothers, Charles Harris Dale, Sr. and Oscar Dale. Her longtime companion, friend and niece, Rebecca Ann Officer also preceded her in passing. She is survived by nieces, Betty Elaine Hawkins and Caroline Stephens Banker; nephews, Charles Harris Dale, Patrick Dale and John Officer along with many great and great-great nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank and give special recognition to her long time and current caregivers, Myrna Holman, Nita Blaylock, Vicki Gottardy, Paige Dyer, Sheri Hollaway, and Carol Breeding. Funeral services for Bessie Estell Neal, age 90, of Cookeville will be held Friday, October 26th, 2018 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Miles officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial. Estell passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County in Cookeville. She was born Thursday, February 23, 1928 in Cookeville to the late John Buckner and Phebie Catherine Lee Buckner. Estell loved the Lord. She was a long time member of Wilhite Baptist Church. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a simple woman and loved her family more than anything. She often bragged, saying “I have the best sons-in-law in the world.” In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, David Neal; brothers, Modell Buckner and Johnson McCloud; sisters, Bricie Hunter, Velma Neal, Gusta Myers, and Edna Farley. Interment will follow at the Brotherton Cemetery. Mrs. Swallows died Wednesday October 24, 2018 at 3:24 a.m. at her home. Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Donald Leroy Keith, age 85, of Allons will be held Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Cookeville Seventh-day Adventist Church. Mr. Donald Keith passed peacefully from this life on Saturday evening, September 22, 2018 from the Overton County Health & Rehab in Livingston. He was born April 18, 1933 in Harlem, New York to the late Watson & Lois Jackson Keith. Donald served his country during the Korean Conflict, where he served as a Nurse Officer. He would later attend school and become a Nurse Anesthetist. He was a member of Three Angels Seventh-day Adventist Church. Donald loved the Lord, and enjoyed Bible Study, helping others, bird watching, gardening, and playing the piano. He was a amateur photographer and loved his family dearly. Donald leaves his loving wife, Mrs. Harriet Moseley Keith of Allons; daughters, Karmen Keith of Allons, and Lori Fullard & husband Larry of Orangeburg, SC; foster daughter, Sarah Smith & husband Jerome of Grand Rapids, MI; sisters, Jeannette DuBois of New Orleans, LA and Lois Ashburne of Bowie, MD; grandchildren, Larry R.
