Obituaries For Wednesday, June 26

Barbara Ann Finley McClees, 78 passed away June 25, 2019 at NHC Nursing Home. Mrs. McClees was born January 22,, 1941 to the late Will and Notie Tollett Finley in Cookeville. She is survived by her daughter Robin Lynn Fox and husband Terry. Brother Coy Finley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Kenneth McClees and brothers Billy and Carl Finley. Cremation was chosen. No services will be held.

Celebration of Life Services for Ms. Donald Maxine McCormick, age 80, of Livingston will be announced at a later date. Ms. Maxine passed from this life on Monday evening, June 24, 2019 from the Overton County Health & Rehab. Maxine was born to the late Aubrey Donald & Lou V. Allen McCormick. Maxine leaves behind her sister Reba Crabtree & husband Jack of Livingston; nephew Stan Crabtree and niece Tamara Crabtree.

Donna Jane (Schrader) Powell, 60 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019, at her home. Donna was born Tuesday, September 16, 1958 in Springfield, Ohio and she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Verna Patricia (Fenton) Schrader. Donna chose cremation, the family followed her wishes and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Graveside services and interment for Mrs. Gisela Wood, age 74 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday June 27th at 11:00 a.m. at Cookeville City Cemetery. Chaplain Dwight Henry will officiate. Mrs. Wood passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Bethesda Health Care Center. She was born January 23, 1945 in Doerpen, Germany to the late Arthur and Gertrud Meigen Weide. She was educated in Germany. Gisela moved to Cookeville in 2005 upon purchasing All About Pets. She had a genuine love for animals. She was a distinguished breeder of AKC Champion Great Danes, and won many national competitions for the breed. She also enjoyed being a member of Cookeville Chamber of Commerce, The German Club, Lion’s Club and Upper Cumberland Business Women’s Association. She was a lover and supporter of various musical events and venues. Memorial contributions may be made to All About Rescuing and Fixin’, A.A.R.F., P.O. Box 4074, Cookeville, TN 38502, and World Wildlife Fund, 1250 24th Street, N.W.,Washington, DC 2003.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bonnie Anderson Forkum, 89, of Gainesboro, will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County. She passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019, at Mabry Health Care Center in Gainesboro. She was born February 7, 1930, to the late James Bedford Anderson and Lola B. Loftis Anderson. On June 30, 1956, she was married to the late Shelby W. Forkum, who passed away December 30, 2018. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Willow Avenue Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: Herman, Elbert, and Fred Anderson; and 3 Sisters: Doyle Anderson, Virdia Spurlock, and Dona L. Anderson. Survivors include 1 Daughter: Denise (Ron) Cantrell of Cookeville; 2 Brothers: James Carl Anderson and Clarence Anderson, both of Gainesboro; and 1 Sister in Law: Kathleen Smoliga of Estil Springs. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 A.M. until time of services.

Funeral services for Mr. James Gaw, age 86 of Cookeville will be held Friday June 28 at 10 a.m. at Cookeville First Church with interment to follow in Fellowship Cemetery in the Allons Community of Overton County. Mr. Gaw died Wednesday morning June 26, 2019 at his home. Mrs. Gaw’s family will receive fiends Thursday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Friday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Paul Lewis, age 88 of Monterey, will be held Friday, June 28th at 10am (EDT) at Croley Funeral Home in Williamsburg, Ky. Her pastor in Tennessee, Rev. Tony Phipps will officiate with interment will follow at Jones Cemetery in nearby Poplar Creek, Ky. Her family will receive friends Thursday evening from 4pm until 7pm (EDT) at Croley Funeral Home. She died Sunday evening, June 23rd at her residence. She was born August 30, 1930 in Whitley County, Ky to the late Robert and Nona Bell Jones Paul. Mildred worked as a waitress while living in Kentucky Ohio and Tulsa Oklahoma. She loved motorcycles and enjoyed looking at old photos. Affectionately described as a firecracker, Mildred was funny and had a quick wit. She has been a beloved member of the Sand Springs Baptist Church since moving to Monterey 15 years ago. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, June 26th from 4pm until 7pm (CDT) at the chapel of Horner Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Gary Randolph, 72, of Cookeville will be held at 10:00am, Friday, June 28, 2019 from the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Revs. Tommy Harris and Nolan Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Springs Cemetery. Mr. Randolph passed away on Tuesday, June 25th, 2019 at his home. He was born on January 5th, 1947 in Cookeville to the late Hubert Carlen and Virginia Mae Smith Randolph. Gary was a retired Truck Driver. He will be remembered as being a beloved husband, loving dad, awesome grandpa, great brother and good friend. He was a member of Rocky Point Baptist Church and loved his church and the members. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Ruth Kilgore Randolph; and his brother, Jerry Richard Randolph. He is survived by his daughters, Carla Randolph of Cookeville, Tina Flach and husband Jim of Pennsylvania; sons, Bill “Billy” and wife Teresa of Cookeville, Tony Randolph of Cookeville; brother, Mark Randolph and wife Ladelle of Cookeville; grandchildren, Zebulen and wife MaKenzie, Grayson and Silas Randolph (children of Bill and Teresa), Benjamin and Hannah Flach (children of Tina and Jim Flach), Presley Alford and Bronson “Bo” Alford (children of Tony Randolph); bonus grandchildren, Amy Flach, James Flach, Chrissy Flowers and Sarah Meadows;7 bonus great-grandchildren and 1 great-grand-daughter; nephew, Zach Randolph and wife Amanda of Cookeville. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00-9:00pm and again on Friday from 9:00am until time of services at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Gail Hall, 66, of Gainesboro, will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, June 28, 2019, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the John Young Cemetery in the Shiloh community of Jackson County. She passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. She was born February 1, 1953, to the late Author L. “Jack” Hall and Georgia Allen Hall. She was a retired public school teacher, working in the Jackson County School System for 32 years and 8 months. She was a Christian. Survivors include her Long Time Companion: Rex Marcy of Granville, and his Children: Jeremy Marcy of Cookeville, Sarah (Brad) Nowack of Shreveport, LA, and Joel Marcy of Juneau, Alaska. Many friends also survive. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Nash, Age 98, Of Fairborn, Ohio, And Formerly Of Nashville, And Monterey, Will Be Conducted On Friday, June 28, 2019, At 1:00 PM At The Monterey Community Church, 301 East Commercial Avenue, Monterey. Family Members Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The Whittaker Cemetery. Rev. Nash Was Born On March 23, 1921, In Monterey, To The Late Alvin And Lena Elizabeth Judd Nash. Rev. Nash Passed Away On Sunday, June 23, 2019, At The Patriot Ridge Community In Fairborn, Ohio. Rev. Nash Was A Devout Christian Gentleman, A Loving Father And Husband, And Friend To All. He Grew Up In Monterey, And Went To Nashville, In 1940 To Attend Falls Business College. He Was Employed By Tennessee Central Railway And The Railroad Retirement Board For 40 Years. He Raised His Family In Nashville And Was A Long-Time Member Of The Church Of The Nazarene. Upon His Retirement, He Returned To Monterey To Teach A Men’s Community Sunday School Class Which Became Monterey Community Church Where He Pastored For Many Years. He Moved To Fairborn, Ohio, After He Married Lois Terry Way, Where He Spent His Remaining Years. He Is Survived By His Wife, Lois Nash Of Fairborn, OH; 3 Daughters And A Son-In-Law, Beverly Hughes Of Nashville, Linda And Johnny Hoover Of Gallatin, Lynnette Nash Of Gallatin; 3 Stepchildren, Peggy Matson, Diana Worley, And Terry Way; 6 Grandchildren, Michael Wilson, Sharon Wright, Janet Gatewood, Philip Wilson, Christopher Seger, And Daniel Rogers; 11 Great Grandchildren, Megan, Lauren, Olivia, Joshua, Elizabeth, Andrew, Sarah, Jack, Grant, Melody, And Maelyn; Several Step-Grandchildren; And Sister, Pauline Laycox Of West Mountain, OH. Funeral services for Mrs. Dinah Spilman, age 93 of Cookeville will be held Friday June 28 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Spilman’s family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Spilman died Saturday evening, June 22nd at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Memorial Services for James Robert “Jimmy” Reed, 56 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, June 28, 2019 beginning at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home, with Bro. Tommy Harris officiating. Jimmy passed from this life Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at his home in Cookeville. He was born Sunday, August 12, 1962 in Crossville. He was the son of the late James and Euva Nell (Boggess) Reed. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and friend to all that knew him. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a truck driver for many years and worked for Proffitt Trucking Company. He enjoyed Nascar Racing, and Music. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 9 years: Jane (Norris) Reed of Cookeville; 2 Daughters: Erica and Warren Leslie of Fredericksburg, VA, Stacey Reed of Cookeville; 1 Son: Taylor Reed of Cookeville; Several Grandchildren; 1 Sister: Carol Ann and Jason Lopez of Colorado Springs, CO; 1 Uncle: Joe and Donna Reed of Shelbyville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, June 28 from 12:00 PM until time of service at 2:00 PM.

A memorial service for Mr. Raymond Kenneth Johnson, age 82 of Sparta, will be conducted 5:00pm Friday, June 28th from the Quarles Room of Hunter Funeral Home. Mr. Raymond Kenneth Johnson, age 82 of Sparta, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at St. Thomas Highlands Hospital. The Johnson family has entrusted Hunter Funeral Home with his cremation. Mr. Johnson attended the Tennessee School for the Deaf in Knoxville. The family will receive friends Friday from 3-5:00pm in the Quarles Room of Hunter Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Nathan Prigmore, age 60 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019, at 1:00 pm at McClellan Avenue Church of Christ located at 141 McClellan Court Cookeville, Tennessee 38501. Interment will follow in the Heritage Cemetery, Algood, Tennessee. Nathan was born Saturday, May 23, 1959, in Cookeville, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Charles Albert Prigmore and Marion Oneal (Lambertson), Prigmore. Nathan was a loving son, brother, and husband. He loved music, especially playing his guitar with his friends. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 29, 2019, from 11:00 am until time of service at McClellan Avenue Church of Christ.

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas E. Swoape, age 90 of Sparta, will be conducted 4:00pm Saturday, June 29, 2019 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Doyle Cemetery. Mr. Swoape passed away on Tuesday evening June 25, 2019 at NHC of Sparta. Survivors include his two sons: Ralph (Ann) Swoape of Quebeck, Howard (Ruby) Swoape of Spencer; Three grandchildren: Scott (Tonya) Swoape of Bone Cave, Chrissy (Heath) Young of Sparta, Timothy Swoape of New York; Four great-grandchildren: Logan Swoape, Gabrianna Young, Ethan Swoape and Jackson Young; Step-grandchildren: James Walker, Stephanie Graham and Josh Graham; Siblings: Dot Roberts, Reba (James) Smith, Nelda McDonald, Joe Swoape all of Doyle. Memorial service for Mr. James Monroe Measles, age 73 of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Hunter Funeral Home. Mr. Measles passed away Monday, June 24, 2019 at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. The Measles family has entrusted Hunter Funeral Home with his cremation. The family will receive friends Sunday from noon until service time.
