Edna-Reed Goff, Age 72, Of Monterey, Passed Away On Wednesday, January 29, 2020, At Bethesda Health Care In Cookeville. Ms. Goff Was Born On January 27, 1948 In Monterey To The Late Gerald Whittaker and Dr. Kathrine Watson Goff Who Survives Of Monterey. Ms. Goff Was A Tennessee Licensed Funeral Director And Embalmer, A Homemaker And A Ham Radio Operator For The Civil Defense. She Was A Member Of St. Michaels Episcopal Church In Cookeville. In Addition To Her Mother She Is Survived By, 2 Daughters, Mora (Stephen) Stevens Of Paint Lick, KY, Charla Ann (Robin) Applegate Of Nicholasville, KY; Son, Craig (Tashia) Pyle Of Monterey; 8 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; 2 Sisters, Martelia Crawford Of Cookeville, Sabra (Earl) Rinio Of Baxter; 2 Brothers, Emmitt (Carla) Crawford Of Monterey, Dewey (Kim) Crawford Of Baxter. Private Family Services Will Be Conducted At A Later Date.

James Loyd Evans age 55, of Cookeville passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville. He was born Sunday, July 5, 1964 in Greenville, Kentucky to the late Jim Evans and Frances Arlene Peterson Evans. James loved his family passionately. He was a dedicated Nurse for over 30 years. He was loved by his patients and co-workers. He was a die hard Cowboy and Reds fan. He loved to play softball. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lizzie Peterson, brother, Jerry Evans. He is survived by his wife, Tracy Evans; 2 step-children, Felicia and husband Stephen Cobb of Cookeville, and Matthew and wife Bethany Wyrick of Jamestown; grandkids, Aydin Ledbetter , Dylan Cobb, Myles Wyrick, Mycah Wyrick, Collyn Cobb, and Ryder Wyrick. A private service is planned at a later date.

Funeral services for Shirley Faye Osborn, age 56, of Cookeville will be held Thursday, January 30th, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Presley Funeral Home with Pastors Ron Allen and Jim Short officiating. Interment will follow in Burris Cemetery. Shirley passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020 at her home in Cookeville. She was born Thursday, September 12, 1963 in Cookeville, Tennessee to the late William Ted Haney and Daffo V. Haney. Shirley was an active member of Living Hope Church, where she volunteered in the Food Pantry. She loved spending time and laughing with Amos “Doc” Allen, loved dancing, and loved dogs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her partner of many years, Doc Allen. She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Haney of Cookeville; 6 brothers, Willis Haney of Cookeville, Daton (Viney) Haney of Indianapolis, Indiana, Logan Haney of Cookeville, Randy (Jane) Haney of Cookeville, Jimmy (Sherron) Haney of Cookeville, and Mark Miller of Nashville; sister, Pearl (Dan) Hanlon of Washington, D.C. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM and Thursday, January 30, 2020, 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at Presley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Connie Was Born On January 16, 1968 In Monterey Tennessee, To The Late Watson And Thelma Whittaker Watson. Mrs. Connie Passed Away On Sunday, January 26, 2020, At Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mr. Connie Was A Member Of The Monterey First Baptist Church, A Certified Nursing Assistant, Dietary And Occupational Therapist, And Was Presently Employed At Dollar General on Jefferson Avenue In Cookeville, TN. She Is Survived By, Husband, James H. McGhee Jr. Of Cookeville, TN; Aunts, Lucy Buttram Of Monterey, TN, Mary Matheny Of Oak Ridge, TN, Mabel Tabors Of Monterey, TN; Uncle, Dave Whittaker Of Monterey, TN; Her Pet Companion, Evy. In Addition To Her Parents, She Was Preceded In Death By Her Brother Danny Lee Tabors. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Thursday, January 30, 2020, From 5:00 PM Until Time Of Services At 7:00 PM.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Lee Wilhite Saylors, age 87 of Sparta, will be conducted 11:00am Friday, January 31, 2020 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Saylors Cemetery. She passed away Monday evening January 27, 2020 at her residence. Mrs. Saylors was born February 9, 1932 in White County to the late Chester Burl and Anna Lee Howell Wilhite. She was a banker with Commerce Union Bank for 42 years. Mrs. Saylors was a loyal member of Almyra Methodist Church and enjoyed being active in her community, especially the O’Connor Homemakers Community Club. She loved working with her flowers and cooking for her large family. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband William Gaines Saylors; sister Norma Sue Farris; brothers William Reed Wilhite and Roy Hoover Wilhite. Survivors include her Son: Richard (Brenda) Saylors; Daughter: Kimberly (Phillip) Murdock; Granddaughter: Tara Saylors Loftis; Grandson: Kalland Saylors; Sisters: Nell Moore, Virginia Delatorre, Wilma Lee, Trena Little; Brother: Ralph Wilhite; A host of nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Myrtle Emogene Sitz, age 92, of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Friday January 31 in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Sitz passed away Wednesday morning January 29, 2020 at Bethesda Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. Her family will receive friends Friday from 10 a.m. until service time.

Funeral services for Jacob Wesley Stafford, 43, of Gainesboro, will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, January 31, 2020, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born November 13, 1976, in Jackson County, TN, to Donnie Stafford and Shira Stafford. On July 30, 2005, he was married to the late Sarah Lorene York “Bear” Stafford, who passed away October 22, 2015. He worked as a correction officer at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, and was affiliated with the Beech Grove Church of Christ. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by Maternal Grandparents: Carsey and Gwen Sircy; and Paternal Grandfather: Doyle Pete Stafford. Survivors include his Parents: Donnie and Shira Stafford of Gainesboro, TN; Paternal Grandmother: Mildred Brown of Gainesboro, TN; Special Aunts: Cathy Stafford of Whitleyville, TN, Patricia Winegar of Gainesboro, TN, and Brenda Cannon of Gainesboro, TN; and Father and Mother in Law: Gary and Evie York of Red Boiling Springs, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services. Funeral services for Mr. Willard Brimer, age 84 of Quebeck, will be conducted 11:00am Saturday, February 1, 2020 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Sparkman Cemetery. He passed away Monday, January 27, 2020 at his home. Mr. Brimer was born October 20, 1935 in Spencer to the late Carl Brimer and Cleo Simmons Brimer. He worked for Scepter Hardwoods in Sparta for 44 years and later retired from White County Lumber Company. In addition to his parents, Willard is also preceded in death by his first wife Ethel Brimer, brother George Brimer and sister Estell Brimer. Mr. Brimer is survived by his Wife of 24 years: Ianthisa “Ann” Brimer; Children: Tammy (Douglas) Goolsby, Sandra (Shane) Cooper, Randall (Rachel) Duncan, Michael Duncan, Willie Joe Brimer; Grandchildren: Nicole (Jason) Knoxville, Kaylah (Jerry) Smith, Ashley Dorton, Jazmine (David) Babenko, Katherine (Gregg) Bruce, Danielle Duncan, Morgan Ann Richards, Anthony Duncan, Joey Brimer, Jeremy Brimer; Great-Grandchildren: Jaythen Rogers, Jeshua Smith, Nicali Smith, Leiara Dorton, Alona Dorton, Jacqueline Dorton; Brothers: Edward, Carl (Heather), Buster (Dot), Houston (Betty), Jimmy (Debbie), Larry Dale (Lisa), Joe (Bessie), Dwight (Helen) Brimer; Sisters: Margaret (Harold) Scott, Beatrice Mitchell; Sister-in-law: Evie Hale Brimer; Mr. Brimer also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well. Funeral services for Jimmy Lloyd Stafford, 82, of Michigan and formerly of Cookeville, will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. He passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, in Michigan. Born August 5, 1937, in Gainesboro, Tennessee, Jimmy Lloyd Stafford was the youngest of five boys born to Comer Eldrige Stafford and Ersie Ann Patterson. With his father working in Michigan, Jimmy lived in both Tennessee and Michigan throughout his early years, until finally settling in the north, working for General Motors. During one of his many travels back home, he met the lovely Katherine Scott, who he married just three months later on December 21, 1959. Survived by his wife, Mary Katherine Scott, of 60 years and older brother John Landen Stafford (Doris), Jimmy lovingly leaves behind two children: Belinda Ellsworth (Chris Goosman) and Jeffrey Stafford (Kathy), eight grandchildren: Tiffany Ellsworth, Aaron Ellsworth, Drew Stafford, Ethan Stafford, Emma Stafford, Annaliese Stafford, Olivia Goosman and Gabriel Stafford and two great grandchildren: Sydney Cogswell and John Cogswell. Preceeding Jimmy in death are his other three brothers: Joe Stafford (Florence), Comer Jr. Stafford (Theresa) and Billy P. Stafford (Betty). Jimmy also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends who are located throughout Tennessee, Kentucky and Michigan. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Saturday from 11 A.M. until time of services.
