Mr. Coleman Clark, age 82 of Cookeville, died Monday, September 28th, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete.

Mrs. Clara Mae Wright, Age 90, Of Monterey, Passed Away On Monday, September 28, 2020, At The Standing Stone Care & Rehabilitation Center In Monterey. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Franklin Douglas Massa, age 78 of Cookeville will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday September 30 at Stevens Street Baptist Church. Interment with military honors will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Frank passed away Sunday morning September 27, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 – 7 p.m and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Due to COVID-19 precautions, social distancing measures will be in place and the use of masks are appreciated.

Funeral Services for Geraldine Jackson, age 94, of Putnam County, Bloomington Springs, TN will be held on Wednesday at Whitson Funeral Home at 1:00pm. Bro. Frank Rodgers will officiate at the service. The burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery. Geraldine Jackson was born on April 10th, 1926 in Coffee County, TN to the late Hershel and May Dawn Rodgers Oliver. She passed away on 28 September 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She is survived by 2 Sons Jerry Jackson and Michael (Sherry) Jackson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday 30 September 2020 from 11:00 until time of services at 1:00 pm.

Funeral services for Lanse Taylor Painter, age 93 of Gainesboro, beginning at 11 am on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Bybee officiating. Burial will follow at Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery with military honors. Painter was born October 21, 1926 in Jackson County, TN and he passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Mabry Health Care in Gainesboro at the age of 93. Taylor was the son of Lindsey G. Painter and Mamie Watson Painter. He was a retired employee of the TN Division of Forestry and a member of the National Forestry Department. Mr. Painter served in the US Army. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 4-8 pm.

Funeral services for Fred Gaines Graham, age 73 of Sparta, will be held at Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta, on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 @ 1:00 p.m. Burial with military honors follows at Old Zion Cemetery in Sparta, Tennessee. Fred was born on March 3, 1947 in Sparta, Tennessee to Joe Gaines Graham and Willie Mae Graham, who predeceased him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Thomas Graham, Benton Taylor Graham and Dale Hurbert Graham. Fred was a proud Vietnam Veteran and served as the Treasurer of the local Sparta Vietnam Veterans Group. After returning from the war, he resumed his professional career in banking at American National Bank in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After retiring from banking, he was then in sales with Worldwide Equipment in Chattanooga, Tennessee until 2007. Fred retired to Sparta Tennessee in 2007 where he enjoyed horseback riding, golfing and eating breakfast at the Rise and Shine restaurant with his buddies. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Phyllis Graham; their sons, Scott Graham (Rhonda) and Jeff Graham (Debra). The service will be officiated by his best friend (son), Scott Graham, and Kittrell Smith. Austin Graham, Jeff Graham, Scott Graham, Jim Hennessee, Donald Ricketts and Charlie Rollins will serve the family as pallbearers. Family will receive friends Tuesday, September 29thfrom 4-8 p.m. cst. at Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta, Tennessee. All are welcome to come and celebrate the life of a great man who touched many lives.

Funeral services for Richard James McBroom, 73 of Baxter, will be conducted on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at 3:00 pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. My. McBroom passed away this life Sunday, September 27, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. Richard enlisted in the U.S. Army out of high school. He was a parachute rigger, an instructor and jump master. He was promoted to the rank of Staff Sargent before his discharge. He lived in Louisiana for a short time where he became a police officer and also worked with the county coroner’s office. Upon returning to Tennessee, he served the city of Algood as a police officer and then an officer with the city of Baxter. He was also the drug operations supervisor with the 13th Judical Task Force. Richard was also the Baxter Volunteer Fire Department’s Fire Chief. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed watching Nascar, especially with his grandson Justin. Richard also loved to fish with Scott , fishing for anything that would bite the hook. He is survived by two loving daughters, Michelle (Steve) Dworaczyk of Keller, TX, and Chrissy McBroom; his stepson, Scott (Linda) Maynard of Cookeville. The family will receive friends and guests at Crest Lawn Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 1:00 pm to time of service.

Graveside services and interment for Mr. Robert “Elden” Stanton, age 83 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, September 30th at 3pm at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Mr. Stanton died Sunday afternoon, September 27th at NHC Healthcare, Cookeville.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Marie Carter, age 81 of Livingston, Overton Co., will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 11 AM from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Ruth Chapel Cemetery in Overton Co. Mrs. Edith Marie Carter was born in Livingston, Overton Co., TN on August 31, 1939 to the late Elmo and Emma Mae (England) Bilbrey. Edith was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and mother and a dear friend to all. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include her Husband, Norman Clifton Carter; and Daughter, Sheila Faye Carter. Family will welcome friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, Sept. 30th starting at 5 PM until 8 PM. Officiating with the service will be Bro. Jerry Buckner.

Graveside services for Peggy Lee Carter Roark, age 81 of Gainesboro, will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 1 PM at John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Steven VanHooser will officiate the service. Roark was born March 3, 1939 in Jackson County, TN and she passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at NHC Healthcare in Smithville at the age of 81. Peggy was the daughter of Clarance Haggard Carter and Effie Lee Kirby Carter. Peggy was a member of the Church of Christ and was a retired legal secretary. A lifelong resident of Jackson County she was a devoted mother, grandmother and avid reader. On October 3, 1958 she married Ray Jackson Roark. Visitation will be Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 10 am to 12:45 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
