Obituaries For Tuesday, November 19

Stephen Walter Vokoun, Jr. 76 of Silver Point, died Monday morning, November 18, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life service is being planned for February 2020.

Memorial services for Mr. Douglas Lynn Sullivan Sr., age 66, of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday November 20 at Fairview Church of Christ. Mr. Sullivan passed away Monday November 11, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. His family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

A Celebration of life for Linda Farmer, 72, of Chattanooga, and formerly of Cookeville, will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Wednesday November 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. EST. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. EST. A graveside service will be held in Cookeville, TN., in the Cunningham Cemetery on Thursday November 21, 2019 at 11:00 CST. The family will receive friends at the Dyer Funeral Home from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday evening. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Terry in the Cunningham Cemetery. She passed away November 17, 2019. Linda was born April 9, 1947 in Cookeville, TN. She was a graduate of Cookeville Central High School, Class of 1965, and a graduate of Covenant College, 1992. As a youth, she was active in 4H. She met her future husband, Terry, while both were attending Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville. She and Terry married on January 3, 1968. She took a break from college to be a wife and mother. She returned to college when her children were older, graduating from Covenant College with a Bachelor’s degree in 1992. Terry’s work involved relocating many times. This was sometimes difficult for her, but she always found the positive side of everything. She and Terry had two children, Matt and Ginger. As a mother, she was always supportive and encouraging, and active in their lives. As a grandmother, she adored and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was employed with the Tennessee Department of Revenue, retiring in 2008. Linda was an active member and participant of Mountain Creek Church of Christ. She loved worship services, her congregation family and participating in Vacation Bible School activities.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Jacqueline J. Reddock Johnson, age 89, of Livingston, Tennessee will be conducted 12 noon, Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home. Mrs. Jacquelin passed from this life on Saturday morning, November 16, 2019 from the Bethesda Health Care in Cookeville. She was born in Pampa, Texas to the late George & Naomi Jackson Reddock. Jacquelin worked for many years as a banker. She was a member of the Independent Fundamental Baptist Church, where she was a devoutly religious lady with no hypocrisy. Jacquelin loved country music and knew several country music stars. She devoted her life to raising a Christian Family and was a devoted and loving mother.

Funeral services for Mr. Roy Cooper, age 87 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, November 20th at 1:00 p.m. at Washington Avenue Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Coopertown Cemetery in Fentress County. Brother Mark Gaw will officiate. Mr. Cooper went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 18, 2019 at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County in Algood. He was born November 26, 1931 in Fentress Co. to the late Alfred and Martha Allred Cooper. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a tool and die maker for General Dynamics in Warren, MI. Roy and his beloved wife Norma were married for 63 years before her passing in April of this year. Roy and Norma loved to work together on their farm and enjoyed the outdoors. He particularly enjoyed operating his tractor. Roy had a special relationship with his brother in law, Billy who had Down’s Syndrome. He graciously cared for Billy for many years and they enjoyed many fun times together. He loved to joke and cut up and always had a story to tell. His family will receive friends Wednesday from 10am until service time at the church.

Funeral Services For Casto “Cassie” Bradley Jr., Age 82, Of Sparta, Tennessee, Will Be Conducted On Wednesday, November 20, 2019, At 1:00 PM From The Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Richard Goff And Rev. Richard Harris Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The Big Springs Cemetery With Full Military Honors Provided By The Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Bradley Was Born On May 22, 1937, In White County, Tennessee, To The Late Casto And Celeste Pogue Bradley. Mr. Bradley Passed Away On Friday, November 15, 2019, At The Life Care Center Of Sparta. Mr. Bradley Worked Many Years With Tennessee Department Of Correction. He Was A United States Navy Veteran. He Was Of The Baptist Faith. He Was A Sports Fan And Loved Watching His Grandchildren Play Ball. He Is Survived By, 3 Daughters, Annette Whittaker Of Monterey, TN, Cynthia And Tim Henry Of Monterey, TN, Keleena And Darrin Norris Of Sparta, TN; 6 Grandchildren, Kyle (Brooke) Bradley, Blake (Darrah) Whittaker, Jonathan Whittaker, Nicky Henry, Kolt Norris And Kylee Norris; And 2 Great Grandchildren, LK Bradley And Cass Bradley. In Addition To His Parents, He Was Preceded In Death By His Wife, Jean Carr Bradley; Sisters, Vina Dutton And Betty Sue Lee; And Brothers, TW Bradley And Ocie Bradley. Grandsons Will Serve As Pallbearers. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Wednesday, November 20, 2019, From 11:00 AM Until Time Of Services At 1:00 PM.

Funerals services for Bobby Ray Rogers, age 81 of Sparta, will be conducted 11:00am Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Doug Downs will officiate.

Funeral services for Thaddeus Eugene Underwood, age 93 of Cookeville, Tennessee will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 2:00PM at Cookeville Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at Whitson Funeral Home from 5:00-9:00PM and Thursday at the church from 12:00Noon till time of the service at 2:00PM. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service at Algood City Cemetery.

Graveside Services for Mr. James Larry Hogue, age 69, of Livingston will be conducted 10 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2019 from the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Bro. Roger Phillips will officiate. Military Honors will be provided by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard. Larry passed from this life on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from his residence. He was born July 18, 1950 at his home in Hilham to the late Delbert & Anna Ruth Hogue. Larry loved working on cars and motorcycle’s. He worked for several years at fast food merchandisers in Monterey, before he became disabled. Larry was a friend that could be counted on for whatever you needed or just to sit and listen. He will be missed by all that knew him. Larry was a Vietnam Veteran and was a Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Larry is survived by the mother of his children, Nancy Hogue of Texas; sons, Chris Hogue of Texas, and Tim Hogue of Livingston; brother, Gary Hogue & wife Carol of Livingston; aunt, Frances Gore of MI; several other friends and family. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wade & Amber Hogue, and Buford & Nola Dailey. The family will welcome friends at the Graveside.

Funeral services for Mr. Varman Leon “Bee” Hall, age 65, of Cookeville, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday November 23 in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Algood Heritage Cemetery. His family will receive friends Saturday November 23 from 11 a.m until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Hall died Thursday November 14, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Rev. Bobby Floyd Will Officiate. Mrs. Carr Passed Away On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, In Kettering, Ohio. Mrs. Carr Was born On January 21, 1954, In Dayton, Ohio, To The Late Jesse And Opal White. In Addition To Her Parents, She Was Preceded In Death By Her Husband, Donnie R. Carr; And 8 Siblings. She Is Survived By Her Children, Sheila (Dave) Sisson, Ronnie Crowe, Billy (Cindy) Crowe, Terry (Veronica) Crowe, Donnie (Patty) Crowe And Danny Crowe; 11 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Barbara Jackson And Hazel Taylor; And Many Other Relatives And Friends. She Loved Her Children And Grandchildren. She Was Very Kind, Understanding And Giving. Memorial services for Melissa Ann Roberts Allen, age 48 of Sparta, will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home. She passed away on Friday, November 08, 2019 at her home. Melissa (Lisa) was born on January 16, 1971, in Nashville, TN to Willard Oliver and the late Martha Ann Murdock Roberts. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Thurman Funeral Home to help cover funeral expenses.

Memorial services for Mary Elizabeth Weber, 81, of Cookeville, will be held on Saturday, November 30th at 10:00 am with visitation starting at 9:00 am at Life Church at the Garage Building, 2223 North Washington Avenue, Cookeville. Mary passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on October 27, 1938, to the late Paul V. Lahey and Ambelina (Reaggini) Lahey. Mary was the loving wife of 28 years to COL Arthur (Sonny) C Weber Jr, USAF (ret). They were married on July 20, 1991, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a member of Life Church in Cookeville, and her faith as born again Christian gave her joy, strength, and peace every day of her life. She enjoyed eating out, spending time with family and friends and reading. Mary is survived by her husband, Arthur; sons, Russell Nunes of Swansea, MA. Richard Nunes (Kathy) of Bellevue, Florida, and daughter Judi Whiteaker ( Mike) of Cookeville. She also leaves behind 3 step-children, Samuel Weber Captain (P) US Army( Sheila) of Alexandria, VA., Angelica Weber of Cookeville, and Cathy Weber of Germany. She was a loving grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Carolyn and Ann Lahey.
