Mr. Gordon Randall “Randy”Loftis, 64, AKA Big Daddy of Cookeville, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at his residence. Randy was born in Cookeville, on Monday, October 17, 1955 to the late Sue Warren Loftis and James Loftis. Randy enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his four grand sons. He was an avid motorcycle rider and was a salesman for over 30 years his latest preretirement job was G4S/ Plateau Mental Health. Randy is survived by his wife Cindy Loftis which he married May 31, 1975. Daughter Tabitha (Scott) Allen; Son Josh ( Jocelyn) Loftis; Grand Sons Cade, Cooper, Connor, and Bentley; Bonus Grand Children Macey, Shawn, and Gabe Allen. Randy is preceded in death by his parents and sister Janey Loftis Cole. Family has chosen cremation and will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Mr. Jackie Daniel Puckett, age 69 of Monroe, passed from this life on Saturday morning, May 9, 2020, from Livingston Regional Hospital. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on February 8, 1951, to the late Johnny and Pauline Linder Puckett. Jackie leaves behind his loving son Travis Puckett and wife Traci of Monroe; brothers Eddie Puckett and wife Sylvia of Byrdstown and Johnny Ray Linder of Livingston; sisters Eva Puckett of Crossville and Agnes Garrett-Allred of Livingston; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; many friends; and lifelong friends Jackie Buck and wife Brenda of Livingston and Archie Snead and wife Karyl of Onamia, Minnesota. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Priscilla Ford, Age 75, Of Monterey, Passed Away Friday, May 8, 2020, At Her Home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Private Funeral Services for Mrs. Deanna Beaty Linder, age 80, of Livingston will be held Wednesday afternoon, with Bro. David Beaty officiating. Burial will be in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m., then on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at the Christ Church Presbyterian in Alpine. Mrs. Deanna passed from this life on Monday Morning, May 11, 2020 from her residence. She was born April 14, 1940 in Pickett County, Tennessee to the late Hobson & Chloe Reynolds Beaty. She was a 1958 graduate of Livingston Academy and a member of the Christ Church Presbyterian in Alpine. Deanna loved her family dearly, especially any event her grandchildren were in. She enjoyed going to church, and growing and tending flowers. Deanna leaves behind her sons, Rusty Linder & wife Leneda of Monroe, GA, and Eddie Linder & wife Kaylan of Carthage, TN; grandchildren, Blakelee Linder, Macy Linder, Luke Linder, and Sophie Linder; brothers, Clifton Beaty of Hixon, TN, and Bro. David Beaty & wife Faye of Alpine, TN; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Graveside services and interment for Mrs. Vivian Hicks Barnes, age 92 of Cookeville will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 11:00 am in Cookeville City Cemetery. Rev. Rob Wheeler will officiate. Mrs. Barnes died Wednesday May 6, 2020 at her residence. She was born November 2, 1927 in Etowah, TN to the late Frank and Margaret Guinn Hicks. Vivian was Valedictorian both at Etowah High School and Tennessee Tech where she earned a bachelors degree in Accounting. She worked as a accountant alongside her husband at his law firm Barnes and Acuff. She enjoyed quilting and embroidering and was an avid reader. She loved to travel and was able to enjoy many trips around the world along with her late husband. She was a longtime member of Cookeville First United Methodist Church and was involved in the Women’s Circle at the church. Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, H.S. Barnes and by brother, James Hicks. She is survived by hers sons, Tom Barnes of Los Angeles, CA and Joel Barnes of Dallas, TX; daughter, Amy Barnes of Oak Ridge, TN. Memorial contributions are suggested to be made to ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals), PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.

Funeral Services for Cathy Dishman, age 63 of Sparta, will begin at 1:00PM Wednesday, May 13, 2020. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood, IN. The family will accept visitors from 10:00AM until 12:00AM on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 in the chapel of Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center in Greenwood, IN. She passed Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born August 26, 1956 in Indianapolis, IN to Ray and Marlene Randolph. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marlene Randolph. Survivors include her husband, Don Dishman; children, Chris Jarrett, Kiera Jarrett, and Katie Dishman; father, Ray Randolph; sister, Susan Randolph; brothers, Steve Randolph, and Robbie Randolph; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.

Graveside services and interment for Bobby Dewayne Smith, 57, of Cookeville, will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Cookeville City Cemetery. Brother Sterl Paramore will officiate the services. Bobby died Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born on Saturday, February 9, 1963 to Tim L. and Janice A. Harris Smith. Bobby was an auto technician. He is survived by his special and loving companion, Patricia; two children, Justin and Selina Smith; four grandchildren – Liam, Banx, Baylah and Bristal; brother, Larry (Annie) Smith; sister, Shelia Smith; niece, Haley and nephew, Conner.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Martha Margaret Boles, age 81, of Livingston will be conducted 12 noon, Thursday, May 14, 2020, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Nick Turner will officiate. Burial to follow in the Hilham Cemetery. Martha passed from this life on Thursday, May 7, 2020 from St. Thomas West in Nashville. She was born in Cumberland County on July 21, 1938 to the late Buford & Ila Copeland Hawkins. Martha was a 1956 graduate of Monterey High School and a member of First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed fishing, watching the Price is Right, and loved her family very much. Martha leaves behind her loving son, Jeff Boles of Livingston; sisters, Mildred Turner & husband Doak of Rickman, and Maxine Russell of Algood; nephews, Eric Turner & wife Amanda, Nathan Turner & wife Sharohn, and Russell & wife Tina; niece, Gwen Tays & husband Mark; special friends, Leon & Opal Dale. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Boles. The family will welcome friends on Thursday morning from 11 a.m. until time of services at Livingston Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Mr. Clarence E. Groce, 83 of Cookeville, will be held 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at the Wolf River Cemetery in Pall Mall. The family will have a private family viewing. He passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee with his wife and daughter by his side. Born Sunday, March 28, 1937 in Albany, Kentucky, he was the son of the late James Robert Groce and the late Gertie Honeycutt Groce. Clarence was retired from Tennessee Technical University Farm with 33 years of service. He was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, farming, and gardening. He won several ribbons with his entries at the Putnam County Fair. He also grew feeder pigs, winning championships and blue ribbons with them. He attended Knight’s Chapel Free Will Baptist. He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Jennings Groce of 61 years, daughter, Sandra Gothard and husband Tim of Cookeville, TN. Grandsons Wesley Gothard and wife McKenzie of Manchester, TN, and Andrew Gothard of Cookeville, TN. Three sisters Mary Lowhorn and Freddie, Fances Fergurson and Gary, and Ruby Lowe all of Albany, KY. He also has several neices and nephews.

Family graveside service for Shirley Faye Hanna, age 84, of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery at 11am with Bro. Tim Frank officiating. Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. Ms. Hanna passed away Monday, May 11, 2020 at Heritage Pointe Assisted Living after an extended illness. She was born Shirley Faye Cravens to the late Boyd and Sadie Cravens in Jamestown. She is survived by her three children: Kyle (Kim) Hanna of Cookeville, Michael (Kim) Hanna of Cookeville, and Kathy Hanna of Cincinnati, OH. Her grandchildren include Kourtney Hanna Smith (Dustin) and great-grandson, Caleb Smith of LaVergne; Kandace Hanna Matheney (Justin) and great-granddaughter, Maci Rae Matheney of Cookeville; Emily Hanna (Alex Ristau) of St. Louis, MO and Scott Hanna (Elizabeth Grim) of Knoxville. Other family members include sister-in-laws: Yvonne Meadows, Bonnie Hanna, Ruth Cravens, and Connie Cravens, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Harris and Larry Cravens. Funeral services for Mrs. Donna Sue Smith Pierce, age 78 of Monroe, will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2020, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Steven Barlow will officiate. Burial to follow in Beaty Cemetery. Mrs. Pierce passed from this life on Monday afternoon, May 11, 2020, from her residence. She was born in Overton County on April 27, 1942, to the late Richard Landsen and Mary Veatrice Winton Smith. She enjoyed traveling, NASCAR racing, and mowing her yard. She loved to watch UT and Titans football and listening to country music. Mrs. Donna Sue Pierce leaves behind her loving husband of 50 years Larry Pierce of Monroe; brothers Kendal Smith, Richard Smith and wife Sue, and Larry D. Smith and wife Thelma all of Monroe; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her brothers Randel Smith and Ronald Smith and sister-in-law Georgia Padgett Smith. The family will welcome friends on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edith “Evie” Marie Phipps, age 76 of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Friday May 15 in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro Mike Adams, Bro. Harold Walker and Bro. Eugene McCowan will officiate. Interment will follow at Algood City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. until service time. Edith passed away Monday morning May 11, 2020 at her home.
