Obituaries For Tuesday, March 16

Mrs. Patricia Kay Rohlander, age 80 of Sparta, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 15. While growing up, Patty Kay spent many happy summers on her beloved grandparent’s farm in Dyersburg. Once married, she and Bob traveled yearly to her favorite Storytelling Festival in Jonesboro. They raised their family in church, scoured many antiques shops and read hundreds of books together. Mrs. Rohlander is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Robert O. Rohlander; and Children, Robert (Donna) Rohlander, Evelin Rohlander (Clint) Havens, Lillith Kay (Patrick) King, and Matthew James (Libby) Rohlander. No services are planned.

Charles Edwin Neary, 76 of Sparta, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at his home. He was born Wednesday, August 30, 1944 in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was the son of the late Loy and Edith Nichols Neary. He loved spending time with his family, sports, and crossword puzzles. Survivors include: Wife Dianna Neary of Sparta, Son Anthony Neary (Tara) of Lebanon, OH, Daughter Jennifer Neary-Usher (Scottie) of Lakewood, OH. The family has chosen cremation. No services are scheduled at this time.

Graveside services for Donna Marie Smith, age 91 of Cookeville, will be held on Wednesday March 17 at 10:30am at Crestlawn Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be Father Abby and Bro. Kevin Daughrity. Mrs. Smith passed away at her home in Cookeville, surrounded by family on March 14. Donna Marie Smith was of the Catholic faith and a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Cookeville. After attending Nebraska University, Donna worked in Computers and Business Administration with several Companies her entire career. Her career includes owning several businesses; a café on Santa Monica Pier, two laundromats and The Lariat Saloon. Then later, she was a data processing supervisor at Aero Jet General, Bank of America and Vaughn’s. She and Her husband of 64 years, Charles, loved to travel, during their marriage they traveled all 50 states and even traveled abroad to Europe, Russia, China and India. Survivors include two sons and a daughter in-law, Donald Smith of California, Steven and Kathy Billingsley Smith of Cookeville.

Funeral services for Roy Wayne Cannon, Sr., 65 of Cookeville, will be Wednesday, March 17 at 11 AM at First United Pentecostal Church, 875 South Walnut Avenue, Cookeville. Bro. Ron Phillips will officiate. Interment will follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Mr. Cannon died Saturday, March 13 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. Roy was a active member of First United Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. Survivors in addition to his mother, include wife of 46 years (Married April 1, 1974) Rachel Williams Cannon of Cookeville; sons Roy Jr. (Kirsten) Cannon, David Cannon all of Livingston, and Joe (Jaclyn) Cannon of Cookeville. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM and after 9 AM Wednesday until service time at the church.

Funeral services for Lisa Lynn Roberts, age 55 of Sparta, will be held Wednesday March 17 at 3:00 P.M. at Black Oak Church of God. Interment will be at Carter Cemetery. Mrs. Roberts passed away on Friday, March 12th. Lisa lived and worked in Sparta her entire life. Early on, Lisa and her sister Cindy worked on the farm with their parents. Lisa graduated from White County High school in 1984. Lisa worked at Hardee’s as a biscuit maker and manager. After her second child was born, Lisa served her family full time as a devoted wife and mother. Gary and Lisa owned and operated Roberts and Son Trucking for several years. Lisa kept the books and Gary drove a truck. Lisa Served at Black Oak Church of God as a faithful member, teacher and clerk for well over 25 years. Lisa also loved to sing at church. Her church family held a special place in her heart. Lisa valued her family and her faith above everything. Survivors include her parents, Woody and Linda Howard; her husband of 31 years, Gary; and children, Hannah Roberts (Cody) Ashburn, and Dylan (Taylor) Roberts. Visitation will be Tuesday March 16 at 4:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. at Black Oak Church of God.

Funeral services for Donald “Donnie” L Morgan, age 67 of Goodlettsville, will be held Thursday, March 18, 2021, at 3:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. He passed from this life Sunday, March 14, 2021, at Gallatin Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Gallatin. He was born Monday, March 16, 1953 in Cookeville, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Kenneth Morgan and the late Alta Daniels Morgan. Donnie was a roofer for Cookeville Sheet Metal Company. Then he was employed by Putnam County’s Maintenance Department. He enjoyed the outdoors, as a bass fisherman and a deer hunter. He liked to watch car racing. Most of all, he loved his family. Donnie is survived by 5 children Jeff (Robin) Morgan of Mt. Juliet, Jennifer Morgan of Mt Juliet, Donald (Patricia) Morgan of Sparta, Ronnie Gore of Cookeville, Angie Bilbrey Of Cookeville. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 3:00 pm.

Funeral services for Sue Jones, 88 of the Center Grove community of Jackson County, will be held on Friday, March 19, at 1 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in Gainesboro. Mrs. Jones passed away on Tuesday, March 16 at her residence. She was married to the late Jimmy Jones, who passed away May 26, 2017. She graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 1956 with a business degree. She was the director of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) for 30 years, and was a member of the McCoinsville Church of Christ. Survivors include many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 A.M. until time of services.

Funeral services of Evelyn J. Schinlaub, age 89 of Cookeville and formerly of Anderson, IN, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday March 20 at Brown, Butz, and Diedringe Funeral Home in Anderson, IN. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. She passed away Saturday March 13, 2021. She was born April 7, 1931 in Anderson, IN to the late Guy and Juanita Schmidt Justice. She is survived by a daughter, Jackie Campfield of Cookeville; son, Randy (wife, Jackie) Schinlaub of Rineyville, KY. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time.
