Obituaries For Tuesday, February 4

Marilyn Jean Brown, age 84, of Cookeville, passed away Monday morning February 3, 2020 at her home. Ms. Brown was born March 13, 1935 in Parke County, IN to the late Theodore Emil McCalment Sr. and Mildred Lucille McCarty McCalment. She was retired from Nipsco Gas in Plymouth, IN. She is survived by two daughters, Jane Piercy of Cookeville; and Debra Sue Emantel of Crawfordsville, IN; son, Phillip Brown of Crawfordsville; brother, Stephen Dale McCalment of Crawfordsville; and eight grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Brunnett; and brother, Theodore Emil McCalment Jr. Memorial services will be held at a late date.

Funeral Services for Mr. Jimmy Chatt Daniels, age 77, of Monroe will be conducted 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Roger Walker will officiate. Burial to follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home. Chatt passed from this life on Saturday afternoon, February 1, 2020 from the Generations of Spencer. He was born in the Willow Grove Community of Clay County, Tennessee on May 7, 1942, to the late Harlin & Claudine Holman Daniels. Chatt was a member of the 1st Assembly of God in Livingston, where he served as Deacon. He worked for many years in construction running a bulldozer. Chatt enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was serving the Lord, and spending time with his family and friends. Chatt leaves behind the mother of his children, Anna Faye Boles Daniels of Livingston, TN; daughters, Betty McCloud of Louisville, KY, Debbie Sells & husband Tracy of Livingston, TN, and Rita Walker & husband Roger of Livingston, TN; sons, Adam Daniels of Livingston, TN, Jimmy Daniels & wife April of Monroe, TN, and Terry Daniels of Livingston, TN; sisters, Janice Goodpasture of Harriman, TN, and Sadie Neal of Livingston, TN; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Judy Faye Meadows Bumbalough, age 70 of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Wednesday from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Joe Neal and Jim Kilcullen will officiate. The White County Sheriff’s Department will serve the family as pallbearers. She passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Judy was born January 22, 1950 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Norman Lee and Alice Irene Strickland Meadows. She had a vast work career that ranged from being a garment factory worker to eventually owning a clothing store and then a social worker for DCS. She will be remembered for her time at Dixie Food Mart #1 in Sparta, but her most notable work was in law enforcement. She was a former Van Buren County Jailor and dispatcher until she began her career with the White County Sheriff’s Department. She served as a secretary and then as a reserve deputy and volunteer, working closely alongside her husband Dale. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by siblings Billy Meadows, twins Ronnie & Lonnie Meadows, Jerry Meadows, Evelyn McQuestion, and Tom Meadows. Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include her husband of 50 years Dale Wayne Bumbalough of Sparta; Children: Michael (Christy) Bumbalough of Sparta, Stephanie (David) Merritt of Thetford, England, Jerry Bumbalough of Doyle, Roy Bumbalough of Knoxville, Judy Bumbalough of Alabama.

The Funeral Service for Brice “Donald” Nash, 76, of Sparta, will be on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 2:30 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Dwight Fuqua officiating, burial will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery. He went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol Nash, Daughter- Donna (Tim) Copeland of Sparta. Grandchildren- Tyler (Tosha) Copeland of Oak Ridge, Kristina (Matthew) Norrell of Cullman, AL. Great-Grandchildren- Brookelyn and Max Copeland, Noah Norrell and Kayden Schmidt. Sisters- Thelma (Horace) Prater and Wauleen (Roy) Patton both of Sparta. Sister-in-law- Barbara Nash of Hopkinsville, KY and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Brice and Anna, Brothers- Arby, J.C. and Bobby Jo Nash. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, at the funeral home, from 11:30 am till the time of the service.

Funeral services for Mr. Freeman R. Gooch, age 93 of Sparta will be conducted 11am Thursday, February 6, 2020 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-8pm at Hunter Funeral Home. He passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Dr. James ‘Jim’ M. Murchison, age 75 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 1:00 pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Andrew Berg will officiate. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Dr. Murchison died Monday February 3, 2020 at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County. His family will receive friends Thursday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Ray Ann Davis Dunham, age 83 of Sparta, will be conducted 11:00am Saturday, February 8, 2020 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Lost Creek Cemetery. She passed away Monday morning, February 3, 2020 at her residence. Mrs. Dunham was born June 13, 1936 in the Lost Creek Community of White County to the late Johnny Ray & Lillie Mae Mitchell Davis. She worked at Mallory Timers for nearly 30 years and was a member of Freewill Baptist Church of Sparta. When she had time, she enjoyed visiting friends and family. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her three brothers James Arnold Davis, George Donald Davis and Herbert Paul Davis. Surviving family members include her four children Charles Arnold Dunham, Susan Una Dunham, Greg Noble Dunham and Marsha Dunham Nikahd; Grandchildren: Chad Dunham, Brandy Dunham Titsworth, Hunter Dunham, Chandler Dunham, John Hart, Sarah Hart, Monya Nikahd and Melica Nikahd; Great-grandchildren: Ali Hollandsworth, Colten Dunham, Emma Titsworth, Hudson Titsworth and Wade Dunham. A host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday from 4-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Joshua Wayne Trent age 41 of Livingston, will be held for Joshua Wayne Trent on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 3 PM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston. He passed from this life on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Saint Thomas West in Nashville. Personal Info: Mr. Joshua Wayne Trent was born in Kingsport, on August 30, 1978 to Carolyn Carter and the late Wayne Trent. Many, especially his family and friends, loved Josh and that includes his students over the years. Josh was a band teacher and helped lead a lot of children in music. Josh taught for 13 years in Overton, Clay, and Dekalb County. He was the Uniserve Coordinator with TEA in District eight and was an advocator for and helping surrounding county teachers. Survivors:   Mother: Carolyn Carter; 1 Brother: Shane Lavinder; 2 Sisters: Deanna Bishop, Angela Wyman; Special cousin: Preston Light; a host of family and friends also survive. Preceded in death by: His father Wayne Trent. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, February 8th starting at 1 PM.
