Funeral services for Mr. Timothy Lee Harris, age 50 of Livingston, will be held Friday, September 2, at 7:00 p.m., in the chapel of Hall Funeral Home of Livingston. The family has chosen cremation after the service. Mr. Harris passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at his home. He was born July 23, 1972, in Livingston, the son of Margaret (Mullins) Bilyeu and the late Rex Harris. Timothy worked in the automotive industry. In addition to his mother, survivors include his stepfather, Kenneth Bilyeu; a brother, Damon Chuck (Desirea) Harris. Visitation will be held Friday, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Gail Knight Watts, age 60 of the Nameless community of Jackson County, will be held Saturday, September 3, at 11:00 a.m., at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Watts Family Cemetery. Mrs. Watts passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022, at her residence. She was born February 25, 1962, in Crossville, the daughter of the late James Bedford and Anna Sue Smallwood Knight. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Lee Allen Watts of Bloomington Springs; three sons, Cliff Lee (Amy) Venters of Rickman, Stevie Lee (Louverna) Watts of Gainesboro, and Danny McCloud of Crossville; a daughter, Misty Anna (Joe Willingham) Watts of Bloomington Springs. Visitation will be held Friday, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce R. Bean, age 87 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, September 3, at 1:00 p.m., at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Bean passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022. She was born Sunday, November 11, 1934, in Baxter, the daughter of the late Dillard and Ina Stults Howell. Joyce attended Hilham Road Freewill Baptist Church for many years. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, James R “Bob” Bean; a son, Mario (Lisa) Bean. Visitation will be held Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

A graveside service for Mr. Walter Whitson Carlen, age 85 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, September 3, at 1:00 p.m., at Cookeville City Cemetery. Mr. Carlen passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022, at his home. He was born June 4, 1937, in Cookeville, the son of the late William Benton Carlen, Sr. and Frances Loucinda Whitson Carlen. Affectionately known as “Walter Whitson,” “Walt,” or “The Big Chief,” he was deeply loved by his family and numerous lifelong friends. He was a lifelong member of the Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. Walter graduated from Culver Military Academy in 1955, attended Vanderbilt University where he was a member of the football team, and graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 1959, when he also joined his father in the family business, Carlen Chevrolet. Walter played an active role in the Cookeville community by serving on numerous boards and assisting multiple service organizations. Survivors include a son, Walter Whitson Carlen, Jr.; a daughter, Frances Malinda Carlen (John Ford) Little. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Linda Puckett Carlen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tennessee Technological University Foundation to the attention of the William Benton and Fanalou Whitson Carlen Scholarship, P.O. Box 1915, Cookeville, TN, 38505.

A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Martha “Marcy” Ann DeGrie, age 74 of Hillsboro, OH, and formerly of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, September 3, at 1:00 p.m., at The River Community Church in Cookeville. Mrs. DeGrie passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022, in Hillsboro, OH. She was born on February 12, 1948, in Toledo, OH, the daughter of the late Eugene and Lavella (Davis) Corthell. Marcy was a 1966 graduate of Springfield (OH) High School and started working at ParGas in Cleveland, TN, in 1980. From there, she transferred to Suburban Propane in Cookeville in 1987, where she worked until her retirement in 2010. She was a member of The River Community Church. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Lawrence “Larry” Alan DeGrie; children, Debbie (Ben) Gibby, Larry DeGrie, Marlene White, Robert (Beth) DeGrie, Kristy (Dean) McKenzie, and Royce (Eve) DeGrie. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 3, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service, at the church.

Funeral services for Ms. Tina Joy Webb, age 60 of Hilham, will be held Saturday, September 3, at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Hall Funeral Home of Livingston. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery. Ms. Webb passed away Monday, August 29, 2022, at her residence. She was born Wednesday, February 21, 1962, in Chardon, OH, the daughter of Julia Ellen (Miller) Webb and the late Roy Arlow Webb. Tina worked at the Census Bureau for the United States Government. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her mother, survivors include a brother, Armon Ray Webb; a sister, Rhonda Annette Marshall. Visitation will be held Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Memorial services for Ms. Brenda Joyce Marmon, age 75 of Sparta, will be held Saturday, September 3, at 2:00 p.m., at Doyle Baptist Church. Mrs. Marmon passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a retired machine operator with Red Kap of Sparta and later with Phillips of Sparta. Brenda was a member of Doyle Baptist Church and had served as a Sunday School teacher. Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Marmon of Sparta. Visitation will be held Saturday, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Juanita Moody, age 90 of Livingston, will be held Saturday, September 3, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at First Christian Church. Mrs. Moody passed away July 19, 2022, at her home. She was born February 11, 1932, in Byrdstown, the daughter of the late Suzie Ona Mae Dennis and Joe Haskell Holt. After finishing high school in Byrdstown, Juanita went on to college at Tennessee Tech University, where she earned degrees in BS Biology, MS Education and Ed.S Education.  She taught school for 37 years.  Juanita was a member of the First Christian Church in Livingston. Survivors include a son, Steve (Lisa) Moody of Livingston, three daughters, Janice McCasland and Linda Bissen, both of Michigan, and Patty (Richard) Dycus of Cookeville. Memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Frederick Leland Allison, age 74 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, September 3, at 2:30 p.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Burial will be held Tuesday, September 6, at 12:00 p.m. CDT, at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus, NC. Mr. Allison passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born August 1, 1948, in Tryon, NC, the son of the late English Arthur and Bobbi Ford Allison. Fred was retired from FICOSA and was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Survivors include a brother, Phillip (Barbara-Lou) Allison of Melbourne, FL; a sister, Beverly Robbinson of Burnsville, NC. Visitation will be held Saturday, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., at the church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jessica Marie Johnson Adams, age 39 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, September 3, at 6:00 p.m., at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. The family has chosen cremation. Mrs. Adams passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born February 6, 1983, in Wilson County, the daughter of Teresa Johnson of Mt. Juliet and the late James Earl Johnson, Sr. She worked as a CNA. In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband, Jimmy Adams of Cookeville; a son, Austin Adams of Wartburg; two daughters, Maggie Adams and Shelby Adams, both of Cookeville. Visitation will be held Saturday, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to assist with funeral expenses by contacting the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Richard “Rich” Calvin Stone, age 53 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, September 4, at 2:00 p.m., at Hope Church, formerly Trinity Algood in Cookeville. Mr. Stone passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born Sunday, June 15, 1969, in Cookeville, the son of Richard Edward and Juanita (Jackson) Stone. Rich worked for UPS for 25 years and was an usher for Hope Church for many years. In addition to his parents, survivors include eight children, Mandi Stevens (Eric Clouse), Brittany Stone, Rashaan (Elizabeith) Stone, Logan Stone (Ryan Woolbright), Corrin Stone, Emma Stone, Tyrae Stone, and Aliyah Stone. Rich was preceded in death by his wife, Renee Lynn Stone. Visitation will be held Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at the church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Vickie Key Stover, age 65 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, September 4, at 2:00 p.m., at Presley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Nash Cemetery. Mrs. Stover passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at her home. She was born Thursday, January 24, 1957, the daughter of Bernice Key and the late Seth Key. In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband of nearly 26 years, Hobert Stover of Cookeville; a son, Robert Milton Stover of Baxter; two daughters, Tabatha (Stephen) Leigh Abell of Murfreesboro and Melissa (Kerry) Anne Chandler of Baxter. Visitation will be held Saturday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services for Mr. Billie Roberts Austin, age 61 of Sparta, will be held Monday, September 5, at 5:00 p.m., in the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home. Mr. Austin passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Cumberland Medical Center. He was born July 6, 1961, in Crossville, the son of the late Elanze Austin Jr and Barbara Anne Austin. Billie was a proud veteran. Survivors include a son, William (Shannon) Austin; a daughter, Kathleen (Chris) Pope; the love of his life, Carrie Austin. Visitation will be held Monday, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

A private graveside service for Mr. Gerald “Don” Loftis, age 90 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, September 6, at 11:00 a.m., at Dodson Branch Cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Loftis passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at his home. He was born Sunday, April 17, 1932, in Livingston, the son of the late Walter and Edna (Laycox) Loftis. Mr. Loftis was a Korean War veteran, serving honorably with the United States Army’s 2nd Infantry Division. He worked with Bower Roller Bearing Company in Michigan until his retirement, then moved his family back to Tennessee.Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Patricia Loftis; a daughter, Diane Derossitt of Algood; a son, Dennis Loftis of Cookeville.

A memorial gathering for Dr. Philip Alan Hatch, Sr., age 69 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, September 6, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Mr. Hatch passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022, at NHC of Cookeville. He was born August 25, 1953 in New Orleans, LA, the son of the late Hurst Bunn Hatch, Jr. M.D. and Fran Buchtel Hatch. Dr. Hatch earned both a Bachelor’s and Masters degree from Tulane University and a doctorate from East Tennessee State University. His career as a college professor included teaching at Austin Peay State University, where he served as the director of the Bachelor of Professional Studies program for seven years, and at East Tennessee State University. He was a member of the Episcopal church and attended St. Michael’s Episcopal Church while living in Cookeville. Survivors include a son, Philip Alan (Heather) Hatch, Jr. of Cookeville; a daughter, Logan (A.J.) Morgan of Longview, TX.
