Mrs. Patricia Ann “Patty” Thompson, age 72 of Livingston passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at her home.  Funeral services will be announced at a later date. Mrs. Thompson was born July 3, 1949, in Dayton, OH, the daughter of the late Luther Edward and Jessie Lee Goad Strong. Patty worked for many years for the Berkline Corporation. Her favorite job was working with her sister Carol at the Clark House. She loved catering, and meeting new people at the Clark House, where she never met a stranger. Survivors include her husband, Charles F. Thompson of Livingston; a son, Kelly (Monica) Thompson of Mt. Juliet; a daughter, Kim (Brad) Matthews of Saratoga, CA.

Mr. Shawn Tracy Lamberson, age 57 of Cookeville, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022, at his home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Mr. Lamberson was born October 17, 1964, in Cookeville, the son of the late Joyce Lamberson (Preston) Stewart. Shawn was employed as a factory worker with various manufacturers. He attended The River Church. His hobbies included gardening, farming, hiking, swimming and writing poetry and short stories. Shawn also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Survivors include his wife, Emily Hendricks Lamberson; a son, Gabriel Lamberson of Cookeville; a daughter, Gabrianna Lamberson of Cookeville.

Funeral services for Mr. James Kenith Dexter, age 77 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, March 17, at 11:00 a.m., at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Mr. Dexter passed away Friday, March 11, 2022, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He was born December 31, 1944, in Benton, KY, the son of the late Clifton J. and Euphema Williams Dexter. James was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church for over 50 years. He formerly worked for GTE and Ben Lomand, and was a talented landscaper. He operated Dexter Nursery and later worked at Cherry Creek Nursery. James was a skilled craftsman, as was evident when he built his family’s log home and interior furnishings. Survivors include two daughters, Pam (Donell) Allen of Bloomington Springs and Christy Minnear of Cookeville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Wanda Caroline Ramsey Dexter. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Graveside services for Ms. Shawn Lisa Morgan, age 59 of Gainesboro, will be held Thursday, March 17, at 1:00 p.m., at Morgan’s Memorial Garden, located at 768 Sugartown Ridge Lane in Gainesboro. Ms. Morgan passed away Friday, March 11, 2022, at her residence. She was born June 29, 1962, in Munich, Germany, the daughter of Sarah LaVerna Fish Kimmig and the late Charles Eugene Kimmig, Sr. In addition to her mother, survivors include her children, Bethanie Shawn Morgan (Anthony) Wanner, Jonathan Michael (Amanda) Morgan, Joel Amos (Anna) Morgan, Zachary Charles (Savannah) Morgan, Jordan Andrew (Meri) Morgan, Joshua Aaron (Sarah) Morgan, Katie Elizabeth Morgan, Zebulun Christopher (Ireland) Morgan, Joseph Asher (Taylor) Morgan.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kathleen Blanche White Simmons, age 86 of Sparta, will be held Thursday, March 17, at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Simmons passed away Monday, March 14, 2022, at St. Thomas Highlands Hospital. Mrs. Simmons was born August 15, 1935, in Sparta, the daughter of the late Fred and Maude Seals White. She was a former Doyle Shirt Factory worker, along with upholstery, furniture and mattress factories. She was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church, and she loved to quilt. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Thomas Simmons; a daughter, Pam (Chris) Isom. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gerene Matthews, age 90 of Rickman, will be held Thursday, March 17, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Okolona Cemetery. Mrs. Gerene passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at her home. She was born November 27, 1931, in Overton County, the daughter of the late Ervin and Dee Ledbetter Hill. Gerene was a member of the Oak Hill Church. She made beautiful works of art with her needle and thread. Gerene also was known for her green thumb and cooking for her family and friends. Survivors include a son, Bob (Sandra) Matthews of Rickman; a daughter, Sandra Reed of Rickman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ray Matthews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Frances Hopp, age 91 of Bumpass, VA and formerly of Sparta, will be held Friday, March 18, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Hopp passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Mary Washington Hospital. She was born September 11, 1930, in Sparta, the daughter of the late Carrie Agnes and James Floyd. She graduated from White County High School and married her high school sweetheart, Donald Wilbur Saylors. The family later moved to Springfield, VA, where Don worked for the IRS. After his death in 1969, Sarah began her 22-year banking career as a bookkeeper at Bank of Virginia. Her success continued with promotions to Assistant Manager and Branch Manager, before retiring as Signet Bank Vice President. In 1979, she married her neighbor, Leigh Patrick Hopp and gained a new family. Survivors include a son, Kevin (Laura) Saylors of Belton, TX; a daughter, Kim (Rob) Maupin of Blue Ridge, VA. The family will receive friends Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Funeral services for Mrs. Willene C. Thompson, age 71 of Hilham, will be held Friday, March 18, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Maxwell Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Thompson passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was born March 22, 1950, in Jackson County, the daughter of the late Mayhue and Effie Phillips Masters. Christian in faith, Willene had a very kindhearted and easygoing personality. Willene also enjoyed gardening. Survivors include a daughter Angie Thompson (Jimmy) King of Hilham. In addition to her parents, Willene was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Ray Thompson. The family will receive friends Friday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Graveside services for Mr. Lyman Kenneth “L.K.” Young, age 84 of Sparta, will be held Friday, March 18, at 2:00 p.m., at Young Cemetery. Mr. Young passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. He was born July 3, 1937, in Chattanooga, the son of the late Lyman Kenneth and Myrtle Kelsey Young. He was owner of L.K. Carburetors. He was talented in his craft of building and rebuilding carburetors, and people from other cities and states would bring their vehicles and race cars for him to work on. Survivors include his wife, Sadie Ruth Young; two sons, Lynn Martin Young and Jason Young; two daughters, Christy (Ron) Larque and Connie (Doug) Lewis; four stepsons, Jeffrey, Bruce, Kevin and Curtis Lowery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughter,s Candy Maxwell and Tammy Wooton. There will be no visitation prior to the service.

Funeral services for Mrs. Beatrice Davidson Greenwood, age 96 of Montgomery, AL, and formerly of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, March 19, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Greenwood passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 19, 1925, in Jackson County, the daughter of the late Sarah and Amon Davidson. She moved to Cookeville in 1943, living with her aunt and uncle, Lola and Jesse Foutch, and began working at Wilson Sporting Goods, where she retired after 36 years. She enjoyed gardening, flea marketing, and traveling with her husband, John. She was a member of Sycamore Church of Christ in Cookeville for over 60 years. After John’s death in 2008, Beatrice moved to Montgomery, AL, to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Survivors include her daughter, Patsy (Tom) Walters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Greenwood. Visitation will be held Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sycamore Church of Christ or the American Cancer Society.

Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Brock Hollingsworth, age 93 of Doyle, will be held Saturday, March 19, at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Hollingsworth passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at NHC of Sparta. She was born May 14, 1928, in Doyle, the daughter of the late Jim and Annie Young Brock. She was retired from Thomas Industries. In her earlier years, she enjoyed farming and showing Tennessee Walking Horses. Survivors include a sister, Martha Vance of Doyle. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hollingsworth. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Memorial services for Mrs. Brenda Randolph, age 74 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, March 19, at 1:00 p.m., at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Mrs. Randolph passed away Friday, March 11, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born August 31, 1948, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late James Bradley and Juanita Maddux McCaleb. She was a graduate of Hazel Park Michigan High School and moved to Tennessee in 1974. She retired as a clerk with the Putnam County Court Clerk Office and was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. Brenda enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, collecting Snoopy figurines, going to the beach and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Patrick Ortlepp of Cookeville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny Randolph. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the family to help with funeral expenses.

Memorial services for Mrs. Deborah Sue Martin, age 63 of Sparta, will be held Saturday, March 19, at 2:00 p.m., at Sparta First Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Martin passed away Friday, March 11, 2022, at her home. She was born June 10, 1958, in Nashville, the daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy Fish Brown. She loved spending time with her family and friends and loved her grandchildren dearly. Survivors include her husband, Larry Martin of Sparta; three sons, Scott Bell, Christopher Bell and Daniel (Ashley) Martin, all of Sparta.

Memorial services for Mr. Jesse Willard Massa, Jr., age 72 of Sparta, will be held Saturday, March 19, at 2:00 p.m, in the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Mr. Massa passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022, in Baxter. He was born October 3, 1949, in White County, the son of Flossie Marie Massa and the late Jesse Willard Massa, Sr. He worked in construction with Cookeville Boat Dock and also worked in agriculture as a farmer. Survivors include a son, Jared Massa. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Corey Massa; a daughter: Lora Beth Hyder. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to invite everyone to a meal following the service at Nash Grove Baptist Church, located at 9390 Cookeville Boat Dock Road in Baxter.

Funeral services for Mrs. Oma Lee Denny, age 71 of Monterey, will be held Sunday, March 20, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mineral Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Denney passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at her home. She was born Friday, January 6, 1950, in Monterey, the daughter of the late Rev. Olmus and Flossie Mae Miller England. She worked as a physical therapist assistant for many years, and faithfully attended Mineral Springs Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Charlotte (John) Little of Murfreesboro, Amy (Michael) Kirby of Monterey, and Chris (Casey) Denny of Clarkrange. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Junior Denny. Visitation will be held Saturday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Celebration of Life services for Mr. Robert “Dick” Frederick Reaves, Jr., age 80 of Cookeville, will be held Monday, March 21, at 5:00 p.m., at Collegeside Church of Christ. Mr. Reaves passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born Tuesday, September 9, 1941, in Raleigh, NC, the son of the late Robert Frederick Reaves, Sr., and the late Mary Hazel (Rogers) Reaves. Dick served two tours in the United States Navy. After his service, he worked his way up to ship captain with Shell Oil and was able to travel the world. He lived many years in Slidell and Baton Rouge, LA, then retired to Cookeville in 2006. He worked with the Collegeside Church of Christ Bread for Life Program for many years. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Dawn Elaine Reaves; five children, Lisa Rachelle Cox, Melissa Dawn Gordon (Alex Ackles), Taylor Rachelle (Nathaniel) Rector, Michael “Mikey” Charles Nelson, and Erin Claire Reaves. Visitation will be held Sunday, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and Monday, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Collegeside Church of Christ.

Private graveside services for Mr. Benny Walton Hambrick, age 76 of Quebeck, will be held Tuesday, March 22, at 2:00 p.m., at Skurlock Cemetery. Mr. Hambrick passed away Friday, March 11, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born July 10, 1945 in Ellaville, GA, the son of the late George Walton Hambrick and the late Dorothy Brewer Hambrick. Benny had a tenacious love for life and for his many friends. He never met a stranger and always wanted to help others. A member of the Lion’s Club, he was a strong, selfless supporter for organ donation, and his wishes have been fulfilled. He loved the UGA Dawgs Football teams and the Atlanta Braves and always followed both teams closely. He also loved working the land after his retirement, lovingly and continually planting, mowing, and landscaping his farm. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Tolbert Hambrick; four children, Barry (Tracy) Hambrick of Buchanan, GA; Brett (Tracy) Hambrick of Helena, AL; Brian Hambrick of Margaret, AL, and Melissa (Kelly) Jackson of Decatur, AL. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to either The Friends of White County Animals, P.O. Box 6231, Sparta, TN, 38583, or to the Skurlock Cemetery Maintenance Fund, 541 West Gooseneck Road, Doyle, TN, 38559.
