Funeral Services for Brenda Sue (Hale) McCormick,72, of Walling will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Ronnie Taylor and Don Shuster officiating, burial to follow at Plainview Cemetery in Cassville. The family will receive friends on Thursday September 10, 2020 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. She passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Cookeville Regional. Brenda was born on August 26, 1948 to the late Jesse and Ruby Hale in Sparta, TN. Mrs. McCormick was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ and worked in the medical field all her life. Surviving family include Husband, of 55 years Gordon McCormick, Daughter, Ashley McCormick.
Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Huddleston Gore, age 98 of Algood, will be held at 1 p.m Friday September 11th at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Algood City Cemetery. Mrs. Gore passed away Tuesday September 8, 2020 at Signature Health Care of Putnam County. The family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. until service time. Due to COVID precautions, social distancing measures will be observed and face masks are required.
Graveside Service for Douglas “Doug” Rice Ramsey, 78 of Baxter, will be held Friday, September 11, 2020, at 2:00 pm at the Gentry Community Cemetery with Bro. Fabron Nicholson officiating. Mr. Ramsey passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. Doug was a loving son, brother, dad, and Pa Doug. He was one of a kind, was loved by everyone that knew him and he will be greatly missed. Doug is survived by, 3 Children, Gina and Randall Mayberry, George and Cassandra Ramsey, and Kimberly and Ron Reading.
Funeral services for George Thomas Ramsey, Sr., 88 of Rickman, will be Friday, September 11 at 11 AM at Dyer Funeral Home. Interment, with military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Mr. Ramsey died Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at his home. He was a veteran of the Army, discharged as a corporal. Mr. Ramsey enjoyed life and being with family and friends. Survivors include daughter, Karla (Terry) Ferris, and son, George T. Ramsey. The family will receive friends Friday after 9 AM until service time at the funeral home. Chaplain Dwight Henry will officiate.
Funeral services for Ralph LeeVan Vance, age 72 of Sparta, will begin at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Thurman Funeral Home. Interment at Lost Creek Cemetery. He passed away on September 7, 2020 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN at the age of 72. He was born in Sparta, TN to Clyde Benard and Bernice Mitchell Vance on February 18, 1948. He is survived by his five daughters, Myschelle Haney, Jennifer Vance, Sherry (Wayne) Lance, Jessica (Marcus) Bilbrey, and Amanda (Jeff) Walker; two step daughters, Pamela (BJ) Turner and Michelle (Bobby) Proud. The family will have visitation on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM at Thurman Funeral Home.
Graveside services for Diane M. Schimberg, age 63 of Baxter, will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 beginning at 10:00 am at Smellage Memory Gardens Cemetery. Interment will follow in Smellage Memory Gardens, Boma, TN. Diane passed from this life on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Diane was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She worked many years in housekeeping at Knights Inn and Best Western Motel. She was an animal lover, and loved flea marketing, garage sales, and searching for antiques with her husband Charles. Diane is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Charles Schimberg of Baxter.
A celebration of life for Roger D. Lands, age 73, of Cookeville will begin at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 12, 2020 in the
chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Pastor Charles Dotson of East Sparta Church of God will officiate. Mr. Lands passed from this life surrounded by his loving family the afternoon of Sunday, September 6, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Roger was an ordained bishop in the Church of God, Cleveland, TN and the pastor of Glad Tidings Worship Center in Ypsilanti, MI for 28 years. He was the chaplain of Annapolis Hospital in Wayne, MI for 10 years. After retirement, he and Linda relocated to Cookeville, where he was a member of the East Sparta Church of God, Sparta. He loved serving others and was a true giver. He also loved spending time with family and friends. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor. To continue his legacy, Roger leaves his loving wife Linda of 53 years and one son, Jason (Mandy) Land. Family and friends may visit from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Crest
Lawn Funeral Home. Roger will lie in-state 12:00pm on Saturday.

Walker age 81 of Gainesboro, will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 beginning at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro with Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. Matthew Scoggins officiating. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery in Cookeville. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend to all who knew him. He was a member of McCoinsville Church of Christ, and was there every chance he could. He also loved attending other church meetings in the area. Clayton is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara (Flatt) Walker of Gainesboro; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Radford Duke of Putnam County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, September 12 from 10:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm.
A memorial service for Mrs. Patricia Ann McClellan Sherrell, age 78 of Sparta, will be held 11:15 am Sunday, September 13, 2020 at the Sparta First Presbyterian Church. Rev. David Eisenmengar will officiate. She passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Life Center of Sparta.
Funeral Services for Mr. James Leon Dale, age 84 of Rickman, will be conducted 2 pm Wednesday, September 16th, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston. Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery. James passed from this life on Saturday night, September 5, 2020, from Cookeville Regional Medical Center. James leaves behind his daughter Donna Faye Goodman of Rickman and his adopted daughter, Chyanne Dale of Rickman. The family will welcome friends on Wednesday from 12 noon until time of services at 2 pm.
