Obituaries For Wednesday, January 3

Mr. James Lewis Jones, age 76 of Sparta, passed away at 12:27 am on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Ascension Saint Thomas Highlands surrounded by his family. James was born December 31, 1947 in Peterborough, New Hampshire to the late Francis and Alice Jones. James was a devoted truck driver for more than 40 years and spent most of his career hauling fuel for Performance Transportation Inc. in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. When he was’t driving his semi, you could find James enjoying another passion of his, working on vehicles at home. He also loved riding motorcycles and anything that involved going fast. When James was not outside, you could find him playing with his grandchildren and teaching them everything he knew, whether that was teaching his grandsons how to work on vehicles or teaching his granddaughter family recipes. James was preceded in death by his Father, Francis Jones and Mother, Alice (Keurulainen) Jones. Survivors include: Loving Wife of 55 Years: Denise C. Jones of Sparta; Sons: Leo Jones of Florida; Wayne (Kim) Jones of Fitchburg, MA; and Keith Jones of Sparta; Favorite Daughter-in-Law: Dawn Jones; Brothers: Peter (Brenda) Jones of Fitchburg, MA; Dennis (Linda) Jones of Fitchburg, MA; and Steven Jones of Fitchburg, MA; 10 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren also survive. In honor of James, a last call will be made over the CB radio, as well as a last ride. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Oak Lawn Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Jessie Faye Bagshaw, age 80, of the Holly Springs Community of Overton County, will be conducted 12 noon, Thursday, January 4, 2024, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Bruce Mullinix will officiate. Burial to follow in the Holly Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Jessie passed from this life from the comforts of her home on Monday morning, January 1, 2024. She was born at home in the Holly Springs Community on August 11, 1943, to the late Harles Holman and Lillian Mae Fleming. Jessie was a member of the Holly Springs Church of Christ, and a 1961 graduate of Livingston Academy. She enjoyed many things in life, but some of her favorites were reading, bowling, fishing, painting gourds, her many dogs, and especially helping and being around children. Jessie leaves behind her loving husband of 59 years, Robert E. Bagshaw of the Holly Springs Community; son, Brian Bagshaw of White Pigeon, MI; daughters, Anita Meeker of Anderson, IN, Misty Bickle and husband Gary of Hilham, and Robin Bagshaw of Kalamazoo, MI; grandchildren, Kacie Schook, and Anthony Bagshaw; brother, Joe Brigode of Anderson, IN, and sister-in-law, Carolyn Rumler. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, and grandparents. The family will welcome friends on Thursday morning from 11 a.m. until time of services.

Funeral services for Forrest Ray Mullins, age 91 of Byrdstown, will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM from Brown Funeral Chapel with Charles Mullins, Brent Cross, Bro. Travis Simpson and Bro. Marcus Williams officiating. The burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors provided by Hull-York Chapter 5 DAV. He passed away Monday, January 1, 2024 at Pickett Care and Rehab. He was born February 5, 1932 in Byrdstown to Ernest Mullins and Estelle (Parris) Mullins. He was a member of Calvary Bible Church, a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War, owner and farmer of Forrest Mullins apple and peach orchard, and was a curator at Cordell Hull Museum and State Park. Forrest is survived by (2) daughters: Janet Keisling and husband: Kelly, Debbie Cross and husband: Rob; (1) son: Charles Mullins and wife: Carmen; (8) grandchildren: Jamie Edwards, John Keisling, Karissa Jones, Brent Cross, Tracey Williams, Ben Cross, Andy Mullins, Clay Mullins; (10) great-grandchildren and (3) great-great-grandchildren; (1) sister: Kay Elder; special friend: Sue Walker; mother of his children: Juanita Capps Mullins. Also survived by other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ernest and Estelle Mullins; (2) brothers: Bob Mullins and Charles Elbert Mullins.

Funeral services for Donnie Gail Minchey Tompson, 80 of Gainesboro, will be conducted on Thursday, January 4, 2023 at 2 pm in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery. She was born December 24, 1943 in Jackson County and she passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of Eldon Lee Minchey and Eva Louise Sloan Minchey. She worked for over 30 years for Wilson Manufacturing in Cookeville. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survived by her son, Kenny (Patty) Ragland of Gainesboro; sisters, June Vanhooser of Gainesboro and Elaine Flatt of Cookeville; grandchildren, Nathan Lee Ragland and Savannah (Wesley) Porter; great grandchild, Wilder Allen Porter; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Visitation will on Thursday, January 4, 2024, 10 am to 2 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials maybe made to assist with funeral expenses by contacting the funeral home.

A funeral service for Shirley Ann Lane, 69 of Cookeville, will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Presley Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Smyrna Cemetery, Cookeville. She passed on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Stones River Manor in Murfreesboro, surrounded by family. Born Thursday, March 11, 1954 in Livingston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Martin and the late Lorene Fletcher Martin. She was the oldest of three children. She was married to John D. Lane, Jr. for over 48 loving years. Shirley is remembered for her honest and generous nature. She was very thoughtful, and she enjoyed shopping. Her other hobbies were gardening and reading the newspaper. Shirley worked at TUTCO for over 34 years until her retirement and was grateful for all the friends she made there. She was a member of Pippin Church of Christ. Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceeded in death by husband, John D. Lane, Jr. Surviving are son, Jason (Teresa) Lane of Murfreesboro; 3 grandchildren, Abigail, Kara, and Jackson Lane of Murfreesboro; sister, Mary Lockman of Colorado Springs; brother, Mike Martin of Cookeville, and a host of relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Presley Funeral Home. Funeral services for David Clay Stafford, age 73 of Jackson County, will be conducted at 2 pm on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Hensley Cemetery on Seven Knobs Road in Jackson County. Mr. Stafford was born March 31, 1950, in Jackson County. He passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was the son of Herbie Lee Stafford and Lillie Wheeler Stafford. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, 10 am to 2 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested assistance with the funeral expenses

Memorial graveside services for David Duane Randolph, 44 of Cookeville, will be Saturday, January 6 at 12 Noon at West Cemetery in the Burgess Falls Community. Bro. Lakelan Barham will officiate. Mr. Randolph died November 19, 2023 in Cookeville. He was born May 3, 1979 in Nashville to Michael Duane Randolph of Cookeville and the late Barbara Winnett Randolph. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death a brother Michael John Randolph, grandparents: Clodus Randolph, Clata Lee Collier Randolph, Lou Duke Randolph and Tom and Gladys Winnett. He had worked in masonry construction and also helped his dad at the golf course (Cumberland Bend Golf Course in Gainesboro). Survivors include father and step mother Duane and Marsha Randolph of Cookeville, son Noah Randolph, half sister Tammy Gongaware, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Misty LaGod, age 49 of Rickman, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday January 6 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Jud Cemetery. Misty passed away Saturday December 30, 2023 at her home. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time.

A Memorial Service for Terrell Jeamar Harris, 44 of Cookeville, will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. He passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Born Friday, December 21, 1979 in San Diego, California, he was the son of the late Jerome Harris and Kathleen Perkins Harris. Terrell was a good son and father of 5 children. He was kind-hearted and a joy to be around, He was a hard worker and took care of his family. In tough times Terrell had 2-3 jobs in order to make ends meet and provide for his family. He was employed by Loftis Underground as a drill foreman for several years. He is survived by 5 children Trenton, Tristen, Tiegan, Primrose (Rosie) and Morgan; mother Kathy Harris of Anaheim, CA; ex-wife Erica Troupe-Harris; girlfriend Heather Hutson; And a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and father, Jerome Harris. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time of service at 3:00 PM.
