Johnny Lee Brown, age 65 of Jamestown, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 at the U.T. Medical Center of Jamestown. Johnny is survived by his: Wife, Caryn Brown; Children, Shane Brown, Fawn Phillips, Johnny Ipock, Misty Horn; Grandchildren, Sissy Brown, Nikita Stephens, Destiny Phillips, Ethan Phillips, Kayla Crabtree, Michael Crabtree, Joshua Crabtree, Leann Crabtree, Tyson Crabtree; Great grandchildren, Athena Stowers, Delilah Stowers, Jace Stephens, Lashay Stephens, Spencer Stephens, E.J. Phillips; Brother, Buddy Brown and wife Karen; Sisters, Linda Bloomer and husband Carl, Norma Brown and husband Billy, Connie Brown and Brent Jeffreys; A host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his: Parents, Conway and Ethel (Wilson) Brown; Brother, Grady Brown; Nephew, Jeffery Brown; Nieces, Melinda Bloomer, Geneva Brown. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Funeral Services for Mr. Deuel White, age 88, of Cookeville will be held at 11AM Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the Algood Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Algood City Cemetery. Mr. White died Tuesday morning February 20, 2024 at his home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 4-8PM at Hooper, Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home and again on Thursday from 9:30AM until time of services at Algood Church of Christ.

Graveside services for Ms. Debbie Lou Stoglin Rich, age 72 of Sparta, will be conducted 12:00pm Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Elrod Cemetery. She passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family. Debbie was born July 24, 1951 in the Cane Hollow community of White County to the late Walter Carson and Kitty Lou Clouse Stoglin. She was a longtime Tutco employee. She enjoyed working in her yard, gardening with her flowers and caring for her dogs. Her fighting spirit will always be remembered for the fight she gave in beating leukemia. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a brother Randy Stoglin. Survivors include her two sons Jason Cooke and wife Peggy of Trenton, N.J., Nathan Cooke of Sparta; Three sisters: Linda Sue McCurtchey, Kathy Tenpenny and husband Mike, Tracy Hutchings; Brother: Jeff Stoglin; Special friend: Roy Winningham; Several nieces and nephews also survive. There will be no visitation prior to the service.

Funeral services for Carlos Henry “Hank” Herron, 70 of Baxter, will be Thursday, February 22 at 1 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Bro. Dwight Henry will officiate. Mr. Herron died Saturday morning, February 17, 2024 at his home. He was born October 30, 1953 in Detroit, MI to the late Silas Roy and Maggie Deweese Herron. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Dorothy Brown, Madeline Victory, Carol Ensor, Mary Hall, brothers Royce “Ross” Herron and Johnny Herron. Hank worked in Detroit at Chrysler Corporation in maintainence and in Cookeville for Duriron (now Flowserve). He moved with family back to Baxter in the mid 1970’s. He was an avid coon hunter and member of the Baxter Coon Hunter Association. He enjoyed playing his guitar and listening to rock and roll music. Survivors include daughter Melissa (Kristen) Herron Mahler of Lexington, KY, sons Robert Royce (Hope) Herron of Ooltewah, Curtis Henry (Lyndsay) Herron, sisters Shirley (Darryl) Maddux of Buffalo Valley, Barbara (Bill) Haggard, Janice Thomas of Knoxville, brother Lonnie (Jan) Herron of Gregory, MI, several nieces and nephews, grandchildren: Landis Mahler, Berkley Mahler, Raegan Herron, Carlisle Mahler, Aberdeen Mahler, Ellis Henry Herron and Emelia Herron, honorary brother Ernie Vinson. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM and after 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Aline Herron, 98 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, February 22nd at 3:00 p.m. at Stevens Street Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Herron died Sunday, February 18th at NHC Healthcare, Cookeville. Her family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

Funeral services for Kay Crabtree, age 88 of Jamestown, will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Jennings Funeral Homes Chapel in Jamestown. Burial will follow in the Fentress Memorial Gardens. She passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Kay is survived by her: Sister, Pat Officer; Nieces, Cheryl Huff, Sharon Stinson; Nephew, Michael Koger and wife Nikki; 6 Great Nieces and Nephews; 7 Great Great Nieces and Nephews; A host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her: Mother, Alma Marie (Crabtree) Smith; Step-father, Eather Allen Smith; Sister, Glenna Ruth Crabtree; Brother-in-law, Frank Officer. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Jennings Funeral Homes Chapel in Jamestown.

Funeral Service for Rodger “Fatcat” Lynn Bumbalough, Sr., 70 of Monterey, will be held Friday, February 23, 2024, at 12:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Benton Flatt officiating. Interment will follow in the Sand Springs Cemetery. He passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024. Fatcat was born Saturday, November 28, 1953, in Sparta, and he was the son of the late James Clinton Bumbalough and the late Mary Belle (Jones) Bumbalough. Fatcat was a loving son, brother, father, Poppie, uncle, and friend. He was very giving and loved everyone. He worked for Especially For You Florist and Polly’s Florist for many years. He was a caretaker for Albert Gore, Sr. for several years. Fatcat was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed. Fatcat is survived by, 2 Sons, William Jones and his wife, Heather, and Rodger Bumbalough, Jr.; 7 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren; 5 Siblings, Jim Bumbalough and his wife, Noreda, Steve Bumbalough and his wife, Chris, Janice Mitchell, Gary Bumbalough and his wife, Gail, and Amos Bumbalough and his wife, Vicki; Longtime Friends and Caretakers, Cody Thompson and Tonya Branson; A host of nieces, nephews cousins, and special friends. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 22, 2024, and again, on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Ruth Maxwell Taubert, 88 of Baxter, will be 1 PM Friday, February 23 at Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Maxwell South Cemetery. Rev. Kevin Conrad will officiate. Mrs. Maxwell died Sunday morning, February 18, 2024 at her home. She was born December 18, 1935 in Baxter to the late Solon and Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie” Rodgers Maxwell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Flossie Emogene Maxwell and a brother James “Jim” Fowler Maxwell. Ruth was a graduate of Baxter Seminary, received a Bachelor Degree in Education from Tennessee Polytechnic (now Tennessee Tech University), she graduated with a Masters Degree in Speech from University of Tennessee-Knoxville. She taught school in a one room schoolhouse at Ensor Bottom near Baxter for one year. Ruth continued as a speech therapist in Putnam County Schools prior to moving to Nashville. She then served as a librarian in several schools in Metro Nashville for 28 years. After retiring she moved back to Baxter and served as librarian at Baxter Elementary School from 1990 to 1995. Her faith sustained through the years attending Hermitage Methodist Church in Hermitage, but has been attending Cookeville First Methodist Church. Ruth loved working in the yard and taking care of her flowers. She also enjoyed camping trips to Florida with friends. Survivors include husband of 62 years (Married December 16, 1961) Doyle Taubert of Baxter, honorary son Chanse and wife Erika Herron of Baxter and their son Kase, several nieces and nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 PM and after 11 AM Friday until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Maxwell Cemetery South Fund, c/o Donita Maxwell, 7495 Lillys Chapel Rd., Baxter, TN 38544.

A Funeral service for Frances Anna Norris, age 89 of Sparta, will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Jason Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Sparta. She passed from this life on Friday, February 16, 2024, at NHC Healthcare of Sparta in Sparta. Frances was born Wednesday, July 18, 1934 in Nashville, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Cooper and the late Mattie Bailey Cooper. Frances is survived by her: daughter-in-laws, Cathy Norris and Robin Norris; grandchildren, Eric Norris and wife Leiha, Brian Norris and wife Chelsea, Amy Rodriguez, Angela Norris and Nick Mauer; great grandchildren, Phillip, Alex, Avi, Milo, Landon, and Myles; sisters, Shelby Kruse, Carolyn Saunders and husband Simon, Martha Hengehold and husband John; Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband Ulysses Norris, sons Steve and Billy Norris and a brother-in-law Norm Kruse. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Stasiewicz, age 98 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 10:00a.m. at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Cookeville. Mrs. Stasiewicz died Tuesday February 20, 2024 at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County. Additional services and interment will be held in North Arlington, New Jersey and will be announced as soon as they are complete.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Shelia Kay Presley Lacy, age 69, of Rickman, will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, February 24, 2024, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Cleston Ledbetter, Bro. Darrek Copeland, and Bro. Jeff Short will officiate. Burial to follow in the Harris Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Shelia passed from this life on Tuesday morning, February 20, 2024, from the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born at home in Rickman on December 27, 1954, to the late A.T. and Leron Harris Presley. Sheila enjoyed cooking for family, friends and gatherings. She made all kinds of wonderful art with her needle and thread, and she also enjoyed watching westerns. Shelia leaves behind her husband, Roger G. Lacy of Rickman; daughter, Angie White and husband Jamie of Rickman; sons, Adam Lacy and wife Clarissa of Livingston, and Josh Lacy of Rickman; grandchildren, Jairus Davenport and wife Marissa, Kayleah Collins and husband Jake, and Jonathan Davenport and wife Angel; great-grandchildren, Liam Collins, Christian Davenport, and Ellie Davenport; sisters, Bonnie Hargis, Gen Cantrell and husband Boyd, and Charlotte Masters and husband James; brothers, Bruce Presley and wife Treva, and Donald Presley and wife Lisa. In addition to her parents, Shelia was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Presley, and Otis Presley, sister-in-law, Clara Presley, and brother-in-law, George Hargis. The family will welcome friends on Friday evening from 5 until 9 p.m., then on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Graveside services and interment for Reba Faye Roberts, 87 of Silver Point will be Saturday, February 24 at 11 AM at Smellage Cemetery in the Boma Community of Putnam County. Mrs. Roberts died Tuesday morning, February 20, 2024 at her home. She was born November 9, 1936 in Buffalo Valley, to the late Sam D. and Hattie Russell Sullins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Herbert F. Roberts, son Ronnie Roberts, sisters Mary Betty Burgess and Sue Minton, brothers JB and KD Sullins, step-son Tim Hancock. She was a homemaker and enjoyed making and working in her garden and flowers until her health declined. Survivors include husband Arthur Hancock of Silver Point, sons Danny (Pam) Roberts of Baxter, Jimmy (Barbara) Roberts of Silver Point, step-son Leonard Hancock of Baxter, grandchildren: Christy Neal, Joseph Roberts, Jimmy Roberts II, Heather Roberts, step grandson Timmy Hancock, great-grandchildren Daniel Roberts, Eli Roberts, Jackson Neal, Zachary Neal, Ryan Roberts, Logan Roberts and Fowler Roberts. There will be no visitation at the funeral home, everyone will meet at the cemetery.

Funeral services for Ms. Margaret Jeanette York Bennett, age 74 of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday, February 24, 2024 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Sandra Vance will officiate. In honor of Ms. Bennett’s wishes she will be cremated following her funeral service. She passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at St. Thomas Riverpark Hospital in McMinnville. Ms. Bennett was born May 6, 1949 in Sparta, to the late Roy and Arrie Christine Presley York. Her work career began as a beautician and ended with 32 years of service to Wagner. She loved gardening with her flowers and serving as her family’s seamstress whenever sewing was needed. Her smile lit up the room especially when the family members that knew her as Grandmother or G.G. came to visit. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by siblings Robert Presley, Thomas Presley, Betty Pinion, Edward York, Clarence York, Lonnie York, Edith Williams, Lessie York and Jessie York. Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include her three daughters, Denese Simpson, Vickie (Albert) Parker and Jennifer Burgess; Grandchildren: Sarah (Bobby) Miller, Dustin Lowery and Kiara, Tiffany (Charlie) White, Venessa Hayes, Joshua Robinson and Amathyst, Haley Simpson; Great-grandchildren: Alyssa Margeson, Joseph Miller, Jathan Ford, Jaxson Vincent, Kaleesta Lowery, Jessica Miller, Killian Walker and Owen Wilhite; Great-great-grand: Liam Hyder; Sister: Sue York Stephens. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life Services, Honoring the life of Mr. Norman Carl Hambacher, age 90, of the Mitchell Creek Community of Overton County, will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024, from the Livingston Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Donald Fossey will officiate the Celebration of Life. Norman passed from this life on January 26, 2024, from the Livingston Regional Medical Center. He was born in East Orange, New Jersey on January 29, 1933, to the late Charles and Christene Lautenbach Hambacher. He was retired from the Airborne Express, where he had worked for many years. Norman enjoyed fishing, and ATV riding. Norman leaves behind his loving wife, Miriam Adele Pereyra Hambacher of the Mitchell Creek Community; sons, Michael Hambacher and wife Norma, Sean Hambacher and wife Trisha, and Chris Hambacher; daughter, Patricia and Husband Frank Dibiano; 3 grandchildren Michelle, Matthew, Richard and stepson, Richard Bishop; sister Carole and Husband Bob Hartman and several other family members. A fellowship of friends with the family will be held starting at 1 p.m at the Livingston Funeral Home.

Funeral Service for Carole Eileen (Adams) Clouse, 81, of Melbourne, Florida, and formerly of Cookeville, will be held Monday, February 26, 2024, at 12:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Dwight Henry officiating. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. She passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 17, 2024 with her family by her side. Carole was born to Claude and Eileen Adams in Michigan on Saturday, July 25, 1942. She spent many happy years living in Cookeville. She was an incredible mom and wife and will be forever missed by all. She is survived by Jim, her loving husband of 60 years, son Bob, daughter Debbie Chassé (Bill). Carole also leaves behind her sister, Lorraine Hernden (Cary) and her brother Jim Adams. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

The family of Ronald Gardner Taylor, 73 of Bloomington Springs, will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Presley Funeral Home. Ron chose cremation and the family followed his wishes. He passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, while surrounded by his family. Born Friday, March 3, 1950 in Newport, Vermont, he was the son of the late Gardner Taylor and the late Frances Robbins Taylor. He was the loving husband of Lynn Sisson Taylor for blessed 54 years. Ron was a loving husband, Dad, and Pa. The best times was when he went hunting and fishing with his daughter. They were fun hunters and fishermen, truly appreciating the time away and being in nature. They would talk about everything and anything under the sun. When they did bring home a catch, there would be a feast with their game. He enjoyed deep sea fishing out of Panama City, FL. He loved his dogs Brutus and Buddy. More importantly he loved his children and grandkids. Ron was in the U. S. Marine Corps for over 23 years, serving in Viet Nam, Desert Storm and Desert Shield. After retiring from the Corps, he worked HVAC for the FL school systems, as well as for the Putnam County School Board. Ron is survived by his wife Lynn Taylor of Bloomington Springs; daughters Misty Taylor of Cookeville, Rhonda Taylor of Summerfield, FL; 5 grandchildren Quinn Dodson, Alyssa Lolley, Trey Lolley, Brayden Taylor, and Madison Taylor; siblings Judy Parker, Susan Call, Pat Gelo, Scott Taylor. And a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Memorial service for Theresia Ellen Grogg, 81 of Cookeville, will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Presley Funeral Home. She passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born Tuesday, March 10, 1942 in Greenville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Leo Goubeaux and the late Mary Beyke Goubeaux. Theresia was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She raised her 5 children by herself while working and always providing for her children. She never missed one of their practices or ball games. She always nurtured her children, but was terribly scared when they got sick. Theresia loved her family, and enjoyed the gatherings during Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving. She was an awesome cook, cake decorator, even making several wedding cakes. She enjoyed going to the beach and loved eating at Calabash Seafood Restaurant. She worked at Fentress Industries as a seamstress and at Russell Stover’s Candies. She enjoyed sewing, making most of her children’s clothing. She never knew a stranger. Theresia was a member of the Catholic Church and loved the Lord. Jimmy was her favorite child! Actually, her favorite was who ever was doting on her at that time. Surviving are 3 sons Eric (Betty) Grogg of GA, James “Jimmy” Grogg of Monterey, Mike (Sandra) Grogg of Hendersonville; 1 daughter Rhonda Marie Tinch of Crossville; grandchildren Melissa Miller, Justin Laster, Jameson Laster, Tyler Tinch, Erin Grogg, and Ashlyn Grogg; great-grandchildren Dawson Miller, Melyssa Grogg, Masien Shelton, Lydian Laster, Jaylee Laster, Gavin Laster, and Jacob Laster; Special friends Mary LaPeer and Debbie Klem; siblings Larry (Jeanettia) Goubeaux, Doris (Dennis) Brown, and Cecil (Diane) Goubeaux; And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Theresia was preceded in death by daughter Robin Laster, siblings Joan Franks, and George Goubeaux. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM.
