Obituaries For Tuesday, January 2

Thomas “Tommy” Andrew Moss, age 65 of Baxter, passed from this life Monday, January 1, 2024, in Cookeville, following a brief battle with cancer. Tommy was born Friday, June 6, 1958, to Leota Lambert Moss of Cookeville, and the late James Clay Moss of Jackson County, TN. He is the grandson of Paternal grandparents, Frazier Moss and Zelma (VanHoosier) Moss and maternal grandparents, Beecher and Velvie (Phy) Lambert. Tommy graduated from Putnam County Senior High School in 1976. He then enlisted in the National Guard from 1975 to 1981 and was an active reservist for many years. Tommy had a passion for hunting. He earned a living as a skilled carpenter working for various companies. Tommy is survived by his mother, Leota Lambert Moss, and two sisters Carol Ann (Roger) Mayberry and Malissa Mayberry all of Cookeville, TN. Six nieces: Leslie (Russell) Wattenbarger, Andrea (Jeff) Guillotte, Jessica (Donnie) Woodard, Amy (Michael) Hale, Alicia Bean, and Samantha Lawson. He is also survived by 10 great nieces and nephews: Hunter Wattenbarger, Heath Wattenbarger, William Hale, Maddie Hale, Harrison Guillote, Haley Guillote, Clayton Woodard, Peyton Bean, Mason Lawson, and Alaina Lawson. He was preceded in death by his father, James Moss, and two siblings, Michael Clay Moss and Velvie Jane (Jani) Moss. Tommy’s wishes of cremation are being honored with no services planned.

Funeral services for Mary Etta Maberry Lynn, age 85 of Jackson County, will be conducted at 12 noon on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Dow Allen and Bro. Ronnie Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville. Lynn was born January 8, 1938 in Jackson County. She passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center at the age of 85. She was the daughter of Davis Cecil Maberry and Cordie Lee Rector Maberry. She was a member of the United Freewill Baptist Church and a former employee of Russell Stover Candy Company in Cookeville. On December 5, 1959 she was married to Mr. Daina Lynn for a total of 66 years of marriage. She was a resident of the Dodson Branch Community. Survivors include her husband, Daina Lynn of Cookeville; son, Danny (Melisa) Lynn of Springfield, KY; daughter, Paula (Paul) Ballard of Cookeville; brothers, Bill (Pat) Maberry of Brentwood, Jerry (Susie) Maberry and Johnny (Debbie) Maberry both of Cookeville; sister, Judy Maberry Patterson of Cookeville; grandchildren, Amber (Ronnie) Dunn, Kris (Sara) Lynn, Adrienne (Tyler) Bowman and Kyle (Devon) Lynn; great-grandchildren, Logan Lynn, Peyton Lynn, Sadie Dunn, Maggie Dunn, Easton Lynn and Ayla Bowman. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, 4 pm to 8 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home and again on Wednesday, 9 am to 12 pm. Memorial donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by contacting the funeral home.

Funeral Services for Donny Roberts, age 81, of Clarkrange, will be conducted on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 1:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Looper will officiate with interment to follow in the Midway Cemetery. Mr. Roberts was born on Monday, February 9, 1942, in the Thompson Flatt Community, to the late Willard and Sophie Phillips Roberts. Mr. Roberts passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at his home. Mr. Roberts was a retired truck driver working with Flowers Bakery and Colonial Freight Systems. He is survived by, 1 daughter and son-in-law, Terrie and Gregory Payne of Clarkrange, TN; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Roberts of Clarkrange, TN, Scotty and Glenda Roberts of Clarkrange, TN; 8 grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Goff Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM.

A private family Graveside Service with Military Honors for Kenneth Howard Brown, age 88 of Cookeville, will be held at Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery at 1:30P.M. on Wednesday January 3. Mr. Brown passed away on Friday December 29, 2023. The Family will receive friends at Whitson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00A.M. until 1:00P.M.

Funeral services for Lella Jean Haney, 91 of Cookeville, will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Ronald Strong officiating. Burial will follow in John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery. She was born December 11, 1932 in Jackson County, and she passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Cedar Hills Senior Living in Cookeville. She was the daughter of Pole Harris and Eula Godsey Harris. She was a retired factory worker from Tutco Manufacturing in Cookeville and a member of the Double Springs Church of Christ. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harlen Haney who passed away on March 4, 2015; brother, James Harris; sister, Louise Haney; and granddaughter, Stephanie lee Haney. Survivors include her son, Dennis (Jeanette) Haney of Silver Point; granddaughter, Amy (Randy) Randolph of Baxter; great-grandchildren, Eli Randolph, Maddie Randolph and Colt Randolph. Visitation will on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 11 am to 2:30 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cedar Hills Senior Living, St Jude Children’s Hospital, American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association by contacting the funeral home.

Funeral services for Forrest Ray Mullins, age 91 of Byrdstown, will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM from Brown Funeral Chapel with Charles Mullins, Brent Cross, Bro. Travis Simpson and Bro. Marcus Williams officiating. The burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors provided by Hull-York Chapter 5 DAV. He passed away Monday, January 1, 2024 at Pickett Care and Rehab. He was born February 5, 1932 in Byrdstown to Ernest Mullins and Estelle (Parris) Mullins. He was a member of Calvary Bible Church, a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War, owner and farmer of Forrest Mullins apple and peach orchard, and was a curator at Cordell Hull Museum and State Park. Forrest is survived by (2) daughters: Janet Keisling and husband: Kelly, Debbie Cross and husband: Rob; (1) son: Charles Mullins and wife: Carmen; (8) grandchildren: Jamie Edwards, John Keisling, Karissa Jones, Brent Cross, Tracey Williams, Ben Cross, Andy Mullins, Clay Mullins; (10) great-grandchildren and (3) great-great-grandchildren; (1) sister: Kay Elder; special friend: Sue Walker; mother of his children: Juanita Capps Mullins. Also survived by other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ernest and Estelle Mullins; (2) brothers: Bob Mullins and Charles Elbert Mullins.

Funeral services for David Clay Stafford, age 73 of Jackson County, will be conducted at 2 pm on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Hensley Cemetery on Seven Knobs Road in Jackson County. Mr. Stafford was born March 31, 1950, in Jackson County. He passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was the son of Herbie Lee Stafford and Lillie Wheeler Stafford. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, 10 am to 2 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested assistance with the funeral expenses

Memorial graveside services for David Duane Randolph, 44 of Cookeville, will be Saturday, January 6 at 12 Noon at West Cemetery in the Burgess Falls Community. Bro. Lakelan Barham will officiate. Mr. Randolph died November 19, 2023 in Cookeville. He was born May 3, 1979 in Nashville to Michael Duane Randolph of Cookeville and the late Barbara Winnett Randolph. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death a brother Michael John Randolph, grandparents: Clodus Randolph, Clata Lee Collier Randolph, Lou Duke Randolph and Tom and Gladys Winnett. He had worked in masonry construction and also helped his dad at the golf course (Cumberland Bend Golf Course in Gainesboro). Survivors include father and step mother Duane and Marsha Randolph of Cookeville, son Noah Randolph, half sister Tammy Gongaware, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Misty LaGod, age 49 of Rickman, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday January 6 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Jud Cemetery. Misty passed away Saturday December 30, 2023 at her home. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time.

A Memorial Service for Terrell Jeamar Harris, 44 of Cookeville, will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. He passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Born Friday, December 21, 1979 in San Diego, California, he was the son of the late Jerome Harris and Kathleen Perkins Harris. Terrell was a good son and father of 5 children. He was kind-hearted and a joy to be around, He was a hard worker and took care of his family. In tough times Terrell had 2-3 jobs in order to make ends meet and provide for his family. He was employed by Loftis Underground as a drill foreman for several years. He is survived by 5 children Trenton, Tristen, Tiegan, Primrose (Rosie) and Morgan; mother Kathy Harris of Anaheim, CA; ex-wife Erica Troupe-Harris; girlfriend Heather Hutson; And a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and father, Jerome Harris. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time of service at 3:00 PM.
